Chase will probably get in in 20 years after he's off the writer's ballot. If he gets in 1st ballot that's a slap in the face to the many before him who didn't get in because they "didn't have the numbers".
He's not on his first ballot - it's 4 or 5 I think. I believe he's trending upwards. I definitely would not consider him a first ballot HoFer.

Rollins should be in before Utley.  Rollins’ numbers compared to other shortstops in the Hall are comparable or better.

I mean, I think they should both be in. But Utley seems to have more momentum.

They were both great fielders. Fuck Gold Gloves - those voters are clueless. We were super spoiled watching that double play tandem.

Chase led the league in one category that would matter over his career. While good and a decent WAR I don't see him making it in.

    Not even a GG.

He did have 5 great years and 1 good one for the Phils. After that he was average to above average then fell off.

I don’t think Utley should be in.  And really doesn’t make a lot of sense over Rollins if you look at stats.  In fact I think if you go by great for a short period Ryan Howard  should be in before Utley. I know I’m in the minority of Phillies fans as most have an obsession with Chase.  But that’s my take

I watched him hit 2 HR's in the World Series in person - will always love The R6.

No that would have to be 10 good to great years.  Perfect example of this is Don Mattingly.  Albert Belle too.

I'm not the Mattingly lover here though.

As much as I loved Rollins I don't think he gets in either.  Out of the 4 phillies of Hammels, Utley, Howard and ROllins, He was the one I thought was the best of them. He had a lot of SB's which I think made his value even higher.

I don't think Howard should get in, but if you argue that players who were great for a short period of time should get in he would qualify.  Half a year in 2005 and won rookie of the year.  The next 6 years won MVP once and was in Top 10 of MVP voting all the other 5 years (1 2nd, 1 3rd in voting),  So damn good 6.5 years.  Would you take those 6 great years over a good long career of say a Harold Baines?
