Co-workers who are Pearl Jam die-hards?

All of my co-workers over the years have known I'm a die-hard; I pump up the band whenever and wherever I can lol.

Maybe only 1 co-worker over the years has been more than what I'd consider a casual fan.

I started a new job in July, and I have the Dark Matter album cover as my wallpaper.

A co-worker came to my area to talk to someone else, and he immediately recognized the cover. We talked for like 20 minutes about the band, the whole Seattle scene, etc.. He's been to 20-something shows, and it turns out we've been to a bunch of the same shows.

And he said a couple of other people here are also die-hards.

A nice surprise on a Wednesday. Let's hope for an upcoming show at the Prudential Center in Newark, since I work right next to it, I now have work buddies to go with, and (most importantly) we get ticket hookups for Pru via work.
May your days be long, til kingdom come.

That's awesome!  I haven't yet had a PJ loving co-worker, but I do have a work related story that's fairly interesting.   About 8 or 9 years ago I was working for a big national homebuilder, as a sales agent.  I was pretty tight with one of the project managers in my community at the time. He was cool. We were the same age, and his big fave band was green day, and he was always willing to talk a little pj with me.

Anyways, we had a buyer in that community who was working with my coworker who was out the day the initial preconstruction appointmentwas supposed to be held.  I greet this guy and his wife as they come in for their appointment with the aforementioned PM, who was assigned their home to build. First time meeting them for both me and the PM.  I notice the stickman tattoo on husband's arm and I say, "Hey, cool tattoo."  He's like, "Oh, sweet, you know what it is?" And of course I'm like yeah, and we discuss all the album releases to that point and basically hit it off.  Project manager shows up towards the end of that and they do their thing.

About 6 weeks later, halfway thru the build PM, comes to me and hes like, "meeting with that couple to walk their house with them pre-drywall.  What do you think we can do to stand out?" And we proceed to make a stickman stencil that PM brings to their house and spray paints onto several 2×4s throughout the home as a little surprise for them.

That was the coolest work x pj collab I've had to date. Fun to think about the stickman just chilling inside the walls of that home for as long as it stands 👍🙂

Love the stories @We All Believe and @Amantria !

I had a couple of near "die-hard" work friends and did bring a work friend to an MSG show once. My main work story about PJ is when I started a new job they did a new hire spotlight thing, because my job covered the entire eastern part of NC, so we were spread all over, and I shared the fun fact that at the time I had seen 20 or so live PJ shows. That broke the ice and I had a few great responses to that. Also, had one co-worker that would forever call me Michael "Pearl Jam" Panker XD

Oh, I forgot to mention. I recently had to send a message to one of my daughter's teachers. While searching for the teacher's email address in the app, I noticed Mookie Blaylock as one of the profiles. I couldn't resist and emailed them. It was a test profile created by the school IT guy. Had a quick PJ catch up.

Never had the luck to work with another die hard, but I do work with a guy who's an overall fan of the 90s era sound, so we still have plenty to discuss.

Not really, I'm in a senior role, so I work with many young people and many people who moved here from other countries.   Most of them never lived through the 90s here.  They either weren't born yet, or grew up in a different culture and didn't experience it, or both.

It's a little sad.   What'd you do this weekend.  Went over to Vancouver to see this thing.  No reaction. lol.

It is crazy how most people's musical tastes are a reflection of what they were exposed to at a certain time in their life.

So here's my story: after Fenway 2024 I started to decorate my office with photos and memorabilia, and I also listen to PJ radio with the door wide open.
As a result a number of my colleagues came out as (more casual) PJ fans; one attended the 2018 Fenway shows, another yelled from her office her favorite song was Jeremy; J down the hall saw them in Lolla in 1992; and Mary wanted to go to Raleigh with me.
