I write the following with the risk of losing some friends here. I hope that is not the case, but I stand by these words and I hope they can respect and accept my forthrightness:

My own feelings about Maher are mixed. I like some things he says, but not so for other things, so I don't object to a certain amount of criticism. What I don't like is the vehement hate that continues to pop up on this thread. I just don't want my name to be associated with that kind of hate, and am tires of seeing it pop up on my feed here. There's enough of that in this world as there is. I can understand hatred toward things like authoritarianism and fascism, and maybe even hate for certain people who promote those things, but I don't understand the hate for someone like Bill Maher. Since there seems to be an abundance of that here, I would like this thread shit down and invite anyone else to start up a new one if they so wish. Then if in that thread the hate continues, I can ignore it and it won't show up on my feed every fucking day.

i do apologize that maher is a terrible person that is desperate to stay relevant, but i do not apologize for pointing it out every chance i get.

people like him are going to get criticized. i do not understand asking to have the thread closed when people discuss the bad and the ugly when it is in the thread title.

Thanks for agreeing that I'm closer to the truth here, because maher said " he was a little handsy" which is what led to the meltdown here Which is far closer to what Cuomo admitted

i hear ya. you probably didn't know that maher is not a progressive and has not been for many years. also you didn't know that people like me won't forgive him for wilting in the face of people like milo and some of the other right wing trolls he had on his program and basically coddled them instead of challenging them on any of their bs. you are going to get a lot more bad and ugly on here relating to maher.

Probably so, and I respect yours everyone's right to their opinion about the man. For me, I feel uncomfortable as it is with the hate I harbor for fascists and the like. I don't have it in me to engage in any more hate than that because that alone is fucking me up with depression enough as it is.
