Two more weeks on AMT

Hey folks. My subscription is set to expire November 4th, and I won't be renewing at this point. Pearl Jam hasn't been my band for ages, and this discourse has become too toxic for a person with far too little resilience at this point in time. To the folks who have made this a stimulating, fun, educational, moving, interesting, civil place to discuss - thank you greatly for what you've contributed around here. To those who haven't, I hope you decide to in the future. For me, I'll keep trying to exist in the former camp and to keep my temper under control to avoid existing in the latter.

Feel free to shoot me a DM if you'd like to keep in touch after. I'm happy to share my phone number or email address.

Ben, thanks for all of your contributions here. I wish you would reconsider, but I get it. We have to do what is best for ourselves.

I was in the same boat a few times over the last few years, with PJ not being my main band anymore. But I always ended up renewing because I would not want to lapse and decide to come back and lose my seniority. I did that after the no code tour and came back for yield and always regretted it.

There are topics on here that I feel I have said everything I have to say on, such as abortion, iraq, w bush, 9/11, etc, but there is plenty to discuss under this trump regime.

Best of luck, man. Take care.

You've been the consummate gentleman and level headed AMT poster here Ben.  Thank you for your excellent contributions.  Let's keep in touch elsewhere!

My subscription is set to expire in March of 2026, and as I find my participation here waning, I'm on the fence about renewing as well.  AMT has been an interesting experiment, but I sometimes wonder if it has also served to chase a lot of level headed people away from these forums.  I'm know I myself have been a bit of a hot head at times, and that doesn't help.  Mea culpa, and sincere apologies for that.

yeah i agree. i think they need to re-think that whole thing. especially with the band slowing down and no annual vinyl anymore. maybe let people post for free but limit their number of posts per day, or limit some features or something. or give paid members more benefits. there has to be some benefit for what we pay to post here.

I came here somewhat late, so have always paid to post.  Even the dropping of the annual t-shirt, Christmas Single, and Deep booklet, and increased membership cost did not shoo me away.  But at this point, the bang for my limited bucks is waning greatly.
