I always knew the following were good running tunes:
Alone
Education
Dirty Frank
but recently I've realized the following songs are good paced songs:
undone
red mosquito
and you? What PJ songs do you like to run to? I need to increase my shuffle songs as I'm going to do a lot more running soon.

Im not a runner, but id imagine MFC or RVM are good to with with as far as the opening riffs of the songs go.0

I go with,
starting out, I go with "Not for you".....then build my pace up with some other music,
then as I have a good pace going, Tremor Christ.... the beat goes in "stride"
then as I come down, slower pace, "Light years"
The band Cold, has some go music for aerobic activity...Listened since day one when "Ten" was released in 1991...and haven't stopped....

I have found out that anything that is real intense and gets you pumped up is not good for long distance running. It is easy to lose track, get caught up in the music, and the pace becomes too much to sustain. At least it is for me. A few that I stay away from Jeremy, Blood, Lukin, Do the Evolution, and SOLAT. You can listen to these types of tracks to get you mentally ready, but I avoid them while actually running.
I like songs with great instrumentals, so I choose a lot of live tracks. They seem to keep me going without getting me caught up too much in the words.
Instrumental Brother is good, along with extended live versions of Porch, Crazy Mary, Evenflow, and Wishlist. The first four give me a mental boost in the beginning and then level out to keep that pace, while Wishlist is a good pace song for me.
I like the idea of throwing Red Mosquito into the mix. I will have to try that myself.Oh he fills it up with the love of a girl...0 -

I plan on doing more running, and I may need to switch up my iPod a bit. I'll keep what' on it, but what other CD titles in particular would you recommend? mgervace mentioned Cold. Anything else? So far my favorite running music is:
cc+ the music factory = everybody dance now
a lot of Pearl Jam
Rush
Bruce Springsteen
New Order
Aretha Franklin
and a little of this, and a little of that.
What CD Titles would you recommend I buy? There is no such thing as leftover pizza. There is now pizza and later pizza. - anonymous

Excellent list thusfar. My favorite music to lift weights to is RUSH. I love it.
This may be kind of funky, but I enjoy working out to 311 as well. A few cds include:
-Soundsystem
-From Chaos
-311 (otherwise know as the The Blue Album)
Just something to look into that really works for me.Oh he fills it up with the love of a girl...0 -

I'm glad you asked. I have a very large folder of PJ (live and studio) on my I-River (can't run without it). Pretty much any of it works, but the best for warming up: LBC, All Those Yesterdays, Elderly Woman...
Mid run: SOLAT, Brain of J, Evolution, Save You, Once
and to bring it home Alive does it every time.
I'll check out a couple of your favorites, as well as some that others have posted. Fun or what?tail lights fade...

I just looked at my iPod list, and I didn't see EvenFlow. Oh!!! What was I thinking! *shakes head* I'll put it right on.
Also, I'm a little . . . how shall we say . . . annoyed at the options available for iPOD headsets for runners. Are there any? The bud things are too big for my ears, and then I tried the things that go around the back of the ears, and they fell off, and I have these ones that have the thing that goes over the top of the head, which is good, but the string things that attach to the speaker things tangle up so easily. Any suggestions for durable headphone non-bud sets? There is no such thing as leftover pizza. There is now pizza and later pizza. - anonymous

I like...
Whipping

Cordoroy

Betterman into Evenflow...wicked...be philanthropic0

I've tried a few types including ear buds (painful), over the head (awkward); and then I found Sony's behind the neck type (goofy looking silver triangle earpieces, though). They have quite good sound and stay on well during runs even when I have Evenflow cranked. (Mine are actually a couple years old and still working great). My I River goes on my arm, so I just tuck all the excess wire into my sleeve or shirt. Works fine.
I have to agree RVM is excellent for a burst of adrenaline mid run. What could be more therapeutic than a long run around the lake with an amazing set of Pearl Jam tunes.tail lights fade...

I'm suprised nobody mentioned Go, i'd say it's no.1 for running, altough i hate running. Oh no, wait, i hate jogging, that's the one!
Whipping has a good steady rhythm for running as well.
Brother for warm-up
What about stretching afterwards? I'd say GardenI'll ride the wave where it takes me...0 -
Not PJ but I always liked working out to Burden in My Hand by Soundgarden. I could put that song on repeat and just do pushups and situps for a long time.you couldn't swing if you were hangin' from a palm tree in a hurricane.0

when spin the black circle comes on when i'm biking it always brings a smile to my face, seeing as how the blood's all in my legs, and i can't think, all i hear is the chorus, and think that the black circle that's spinning is my wheel
i really like biking to the foos though, pj is never fast enoughNo problem can be solved from the same consciousness that created it.
