i I have an owl nearby, hawks, occasional bald eagle from the town nearby

    Strange

neither have I. have a couple bird feeders. doves come and sit in the feeders and on the ground. on occasion I see a pile of feathers similar to yours...coopers hawks around and I hear owls hooting on occasion.

    Cute ^^ and cool eagles
had this red tailed hawk in my backyard. I have a medium and smaller dog. Both on leashes til I looked around and hawk was gone. Let the medium off leash and started to play fetch.
Surprise! hawk flew over my head, I shouted and it turned before hitting my dog. Split second. I think it was confused and looking for smaller prey. Still a bit shocking and would have hated if they made contact. Would likely have been a bad situation for them both. Hurt dog/bit hawk.
