This whole thing started because, well, Metallica has demos released for just about everything they've ever done. OTOH, not so for Pearl Jam.

I'm wondering how many remixes and other versions there are of the different songs. I'm sure I'm missing stuff. Feel free to add.

I'm not including "Slow Lukin" but I am including Immortality. For all I know, the lyrics from 1994 in Boston were the working lyrics at that time. IMO, it's somewhere between a demo and a finished product, much like Reenk Roink is.

IMO, this list should only be:
1) Officially released to radio, TV, 10C, stores, etc.
2) Early versions of stuff like Immortality. If the song was officially released and played live undergoing heavy changes (Slow Lukin and Telluride's version of Santa Cruz) they don't count.

Mamason
Gone
What other demos have been released?

Remixes:
Ten has the box set. I think this is the tan/gray artwork, right?
Alive -- 2004 remix
Once -- 2004 remix
Even Flow -- 2004 remix (previously released in Europe and to US radio)
Black -- 2004 remix
Oceans -- Even Flow single

Elderly Woman -- The "Go" single has an acoustic version with the "me, you wouldn't recall, for I'm not my former" line changed to "of course you can't see me, for I'm not my former".

Immortality -- A version with different lyrics was performed in Boston in 1994. A version harkening back to that version was performed in Boston in 2018. (If you want to be technical, the lyrics aren't 100% the same.)

Betterman has the guitar/organ mix.

Corduroy has the "alternate take" version released with the reissue of Vitalogy.

Nothingman has a demo released with the reissue of Vitalogy with Richard Stuverud on drums.

Who You Are has the version from Rearviewmirror which is not on streaming. Argh!

Present Tense has a version from "The Last Of Us".

World Wide Suicide -- Is there not a different version here? The AOL Sessions come to mind, but maybe it's the video that's different.

River Cross -- It's not really a different version, but the COVID special which was televised had a huge portion of the middle section cut out.

    Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but early live versions of Daughter had different lyrics. For example, on Live in NYC 12/31/92.

    Speed of Sound demo version was available as an official download somewhere along the way if I recall. Much better than the full band work up too.

    Fairly certain that the versions of 'Wash' and 'Alone' that appear on Lost Dogs are different than the versions that originally appeared on the 'Alive' and 'Go' singles respectively.

    And 'Brother' was released on Lost Dogs as an instrumental, and then released on the reissue of 'Ten' including the lyrics.

    The 'Man of The Hour' single also includes a demo version of that song.

    The record store day 'Alive' single that came out in 2021 has what is described as a promo single version of 'Alive' which is different to the versions on all the editions of Ten and the 2004 remix.  The version of Dirty Frank on this single is described as the original version so I presume (but I'm not 100%) is different to the version found on Lost Dogs.

    'Dark Matter' has an instrumental version on the single.

    From memory I also have a feeling that the version of 'State of Love & Trust' on the Singles soundtrack is slightly different to the version on the Rearviewmirror Greatest Hits compilation, but I'm not 100% on this.  There is also an outtake version of that song on the Ten box set.

    In 2004, there was also a remastered (not remixed) version of Alive that had a different cut of the solo.  I can’t remember what the circumstances were but it was released ahead of the greatest hits as promo of some sort.

    Oh yes. "Don't call me brother" is definitely an early version.

    Yes to all of that. There's a whole lot of Lost Dogs stuff which is different.

    Eddie could really screw with people and sing the alternate version of Hard To Imagine once.

    How could I forget? I even "complained" about the original mixes of the various songs disappearing from Pearl Jam Radio once the remixes came out.

    Good call on the many difference between early recordings and Lost Dogs versions.

    Some sources say the Lost Dogs version of YLed cuts the final note off. I'm not sure I agree there.

    The single version of Jeremy is censored and fades out somewhere near the "spoke in, spoke in" part at the end.

    The single version of Save You is censored.

    Jeff’s demo of Nothing As It Seems, which can be found on YouTube and I’ve heard on the SiriusXM channel a couple times is pretty rad.

    There are some demos for some Matt songs, like The Fixer and In the Moonlight (I think). Probably some others I am forgetting. I think there was a demo for Light Years and some other Binaural tracks floating around at one point.

    Yes, I can’t seem to find it.  I can’t even remember what digital platform they gave it away on.

    It was part of the promo for Backspacer.  I think you had to complete a puzzle of some of the artwork and it unlocked the demo.  Amazing version.  Lots of E-bow

    Correct. I remember having access to it, I think maybe with a pre-order or fan club gift? Either way, it is much better than the full band version. Feels sadder. I’ve replaced the full band version with solo Ed on my iTunes.
