How "Black" is about a car.

How it is possible that Black could be a song about a persons love for their car........... then combined drinking with driving, and no longer have their car. it actally does kinda make some sort of sense in a weird, twisted kinda way..



Hey...oooh...
Sheets of empty canvas, untouched sheets of clay (the cement where the car used to sit while parked in the garage)

Were laid spread out before me as her body once did (the body of the car)

All five horizons revolved around her soul
As the earth to the sun (the car was his passion, his life)

Now the air I tasted and breathed has taken a turn (his cars fumes are no longer in the garage, since the car got destroyed and is no longer there anymore, the air doesnt smell good anymore)

Ooh, and all I taught her was everything ("taught" her how to drive)

Ooh, I know she gave me all that she wore
And now my bitter hands shake beneath the clouds
Of what was everything?
Oh, the pictures have all been washed in black, tattooed everything... (memories, all washed away, with the only thing left of it being the little oil stain wear it used to be parked((black))

I take a walk outside (becuase he no longer has his car)

I'm surrounded by some kids at play

I'm spinning, oh, I'm spinning (spinning... he is remembering the accident when he literally spun all over the place while behind the wheel)

Of what was everything (holds the remains of the shattered windows from the car)

All the pictures have all been washed in black, tattooed everything... (memories of the car... have been burnt to a crisp form when the car set fire during the accident)

In somebody else's sky, but why
Why, why can't it be, why can't it be mine (one day someone will come across it in the junkyard and fix it u.. but he cat afford it, and is screaming about how dumb he was to drive drunk)

    First off, Bad Religion never broke up.

    Secondly, Ed was never in Bad Religion... but DOES sing backup vocals on a couple songs off of "Recipe for Hate" (an album i sugest you all buy)
