Take my anti Colbert bias out of the picture and you have a guy that criticized the president getting canned to potentially facilitate a merger with Trump favored Ellison owned Skydance media. Days later the POTUS makes a statement that basically says hey that's a nice late show you other networks have there it sure would be a shame if something happened to it and if it did I hope I'm part of the reason. And we are to just believe that decisions are being made from purely business angles?

south park routinely does entire episodes in two days. sometimes it takes a 3rd or 4th day if writing takes longer, but usually shows are ready to go the day before they air. sometimes even the morning of. that is how they are so current all the time.
