Cubs-Yankees World Series would be super interesting. Plus the Cubs are due to win a few games in that after 1932 and 1938.SPEEDY MCCREADY said:
As a young man, a Cubs fan, I decided I needed another team to cheer for. It was a no brainer. I decided to be a Yankees fan.Get_Right said:I hate the Yankees. But being in that stadium, yes the new one, is still a great way to spend time. Watching baseball (add James Earl Jones voice). It takes the whole day to go to a game. Do you have something better to do? I go once or twice a year. Get out of the house and see a game. Wherever.
Why not be a fan of the greatest franchise in professional sports?
Unless your from Boston, I see no reason to hate the Yankees. Haha
I couldn't afford the ticket. HahaTake me piece by piece.....

Yeah, as a kid I always wanted to see Muhammad Ali lose. I wanted Frazier to beat him, Norton, Jimmy Young, Spinks, etc.Get_Right said:SPEEDY MCCREADY said:Hating the Yankees?
Its kinda, and I said KINDA, like hating Tom Brady. Yes I know, one is a team, one is a quarterback.
But why hate Brady? All the guy ever did was be the greatest fucking player in NFL history(my opinion). Why not jump on the bandwagon all those years, and cheer the fucking guy on?
Brady winning Super Bowls and The Yankees winning World Series? Its all good as far as I am concerned.
If you have any true appreciation for sports, you cannot hate Brady. Only Montana is in that conversation. I am a New Yorker at heart and I like to see all the teams win. But I wear my bosox cap to the stadium. I guess it it similar to being a Cubs fan. Great old fashioned ballparks and probably the best two places in America to drink beer. I think the Orioles get an honorable mention.
As I grew older, and read the history of Ali, I was like, " What the hell am I thinking"? HahahahaTake me piece by piece.....

Funny, I miss the golden days of boxing before closed circuit TV and pay per view. Marvin Hagler, Sugar Ray, Roberto Duran, Palomino. Even Tyson. On the wild world of sports. For free. In the afternoon. Yeah $90 fuck off.0 -
They could play the Brewers or the Diamondbacks and the price of the World Series tickets would be high, though not as high if it was Dodgers, Mets or Cubs.SPEEDY MCCREADY said:

My dad was the opposite. We didn't leave regardless of the score. It could be 20-0 in the 7th, and we would stay until the end of the game.SPEEDY MCCREADY said:
My dad was a "beat the traffic guy" back in the day. This was in the mid to late 70s, at Wrigley, when there was only 5000 people in the park. We were literally only a 20 minute drive from home. Yet dear old dad had to leave in the 7th, to beat traffic.mcgruff10 said:

When dad started taking the grandkids to the game, my nieces, everything changed. They basically told my dad to "pound sand".cutz said:

Thanks to the Cubs TV announcers, I have come up with a nickname for Judge. After that horrendous error in the World Series last year, I will now forever call him CLANK.
I don't care if he is, right now, the best hitter in the game.

Well, it’s not $23.50 or $23.75 or even $24.00. It’s $23.49! I’ll take it!Wobbie said:09/15/1998 & 09/16/1998, Mansfield, MA; 08/29/00 08/30/00, Mansfield, MA; 07/02/03, 07/03/03, Mansfield, MA; 09/28/04, 09/29/04, Boston, MA; 09/22/05, Halifax, NS; 05/24/06, 05/25/06, Boston, MA; 07/22/06, 07/23/06, Gorge, WA; 06/27/2008, Hartford; 06/28/08, 06/30/08, Mansfield; 08/18/2009, O2, London, UK; 10/30/09, 10/31/09, Philadelphia, PA; 05/15/10, Hartford, CT; 05/17/10, Boston, MA; 05/20/10, 05/21/10, NY, NY; 06/22/10, Dublin, IRE; 06/23/10, Northern Ireland; 09/03/11, 09/04/11, Alpine Valley, WI; 09/11/11, 09/12/11, Toronto, Ont; 09/14/11, Ottawa, Ont; 09/15/11, Hamilton, Ont; 07/02/2012, Prague, Czech Republic; 07/04/2012 & 07/05/2012, Berlin, Germany; 07/07/2012, Stockholm, Sweden; 09/30/2012, Missoula, MT; 07/16/2013, London, Ont; 07/19/2013, Chicago, IL; 10/15/2013 & 10/16/2013, Worcester, MA; 10/21/2013 & 10/22/2013, Philadelphia, PA; 10/25/2013, Hartford, CT; 11/29/2013, Portland, OR; 11/30/2013, Spokane, WA; 12/04/2013, Vancouver, BC; 12/06/2013, Seattle, WA; 10/03/2014, St. Louis.
