It doesn’t sound like she needed that lawyer. If she was never mirandized and never questioned, then they don’t need to provide a lawyer. I believe your right to a lawyer only exist if criminal charges are being sought, and doesn’t sound like they were. They detained her then looks like they decided to not press charges. Which biblical under certain circumstances, which like we mentioned earlier, isn’t really clear one way or another.

What I meant when I said only if criminal charges are being sought was if you’re being questioned as a suspect. If you’re being questioned as a witness they won’t mirandize you. You still have a right to a lawyer if you want, but they won’t provide one.
So the fact she was never questioned and only detained a few hours, there was no obligation to provide an attorney. No, he’ll just write you the ticket and move on. You can provide the attorney yourself when you fight it in court 3 months later.
She was accused of assaulting an ice agent. They detained her for a few hours, decided not to press charges and released her. She was never questioned. Not unreasonable she wasn’t provided an attorney within that timeframe.
Bigger question would be if there was reason to suspect she assaulted an agent. I’m sure there’s camera everywhere, if she came nowhere near to contacting any of them, then she has a case for that.Post edited by mace1229 on0 -

The thing about those toilets is that’s normal for holding facilities. And elected officials only care when it’s convenient for them. i haven’t seen pictures of the crowded conditions so I’m not commenting on that, but they should give up the fight about drinking toilet water, because it just isn’t accurate.Post edited by mace1229 on0 -
My question Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz would be of the 4 pictures above, only one was taken under the Trump administration. But yet they are only referred to as “cages” and the concern of the toilet/sink combo is only mentioned in the years 2016-2020, and again in 2025.

But chain link and those sinks are used all the time, but some people only take issue with it when Trump is in office and ignore it when it was Biden or Obama. I’ve said before I don’t agree with the ice raids. I think the increased ice budget is a waste of money. People who have an established life here should be allowed to stay. But my comment was specifically about the conditions of the holding cells, or more accurately reflecting on the comments about them.
Why are they only called cages when it’s Trump? Why do people only have an issue with the plumbing when it’s Trump?There is nothing wrong with using chain link or the type of sinks being used in itself. Going on camera about it in tears like AOC did only when the other side is in the White House is fake.0 -
