Las Vegas is interesting for at least one thing: isolated dry camping out in the desert an hour or so outside the city. The glow on the horizon at night is science fiction.
I don’t like casino cities either they are full of the worst and best slimy people but the Sphere U2 show was the best concert I’ve been to bar none! I’d go back tomorrow if U2 was doing the same set I could relive that night for ever! Otherwise fuck Vegas or any casino establishment

I just love the atmosphere, play a little blackjack, get some legal weed, hang out at the pool , hit Fremont St, etc.

Min flight and a convenient place for shows for me now, that's all. 5 Sphere shows from U2 were worth the trip and I'll get in/ get out quickly if Ed plays there again.

We saw the U2 movie which was just a replay of their concert and I swear you would have thought they were there live if you didn't know.

Losing 30,000 dedicated, talented VA professionals will only harm
Veterans — and this is just the beginning.
It's
harming Veteran small business owners, taking away services like food
assistance and Medicaid, and Veterans across the country can't get the
treatment they need.
But
what I’ve also seen is that the American people are ready to push back
against the Project 2025 goal to demonize, downsize, and privatize
Veterans care. That’s where VoteVets comes in.

The retRUmplicans are famous for cutting, or trying to cut, veterans benefits. And yet so-called patriots continue to vote for these things. Including veterans. Idiots.
Besides their outright attack on environment, wilderness, and public lands, the two things I find most disgusting, mendacious, and disingenuous about many of the right-wing extremest are their attacks on veterans and their false claims of being so-called Christian people. There are deceivers among us who are unpatriotic to the extreme, and who are lacking in grace and the integrity of good faith to the point of being evil rather than spiritual. I don't practice or follow any dogmatic religion, but I do get a very strong sense that some form of evil is being unleashed upon humanity or is somehow emerging from certain people who are inherently evil. And that's meant to be an observation, not a judgement. I would not go so far as to say anyone cannot be redeemed. That's not my call, and besides, none of us is 100% blameless or pure. But there is grave evil in the world, of that I am certain.

I'll tolerate it for a few days, but I'm more of an outdoors, lower population density kind of person. I'll go to Vegas for a specific thing like seeing U2 at the sphere, wedding, or bachelor party, but I wouldn't go there just for the sake of going there. I thought I was done after 2 weddings and a bachelor party, but the sphere pulled me in for a 4th adventure.
I just love the atmosphere, play a little blackjack, get some legal weed, hang out at the pool , hit Fremont St, etc.
It amazes me that some of the shows we saw 20 years ago are still going on

Over the last 50 years the changes have inevitably come, as they must, but Vegas is a 45. Min flight and a convenient place for shows for me now, that's all. 5 Sphere shows from U2 were worth the trip and I'll get in/ get out quickly if Ed plays there again.

I bet it is struggling with the lower crowds. They were playing the Wizard of Oz there which isn't a bad idea. Anything to get people in there would be smart.
We saw the U2 movie which was just a replay of their concert and I swear you would have thought they were there live if you didn't know.

Thanks to Trump and Elon Musk taking a chainsaw to the federal government with DOGE, 30,000 VA staff — the people who millions of Veterans depend on for everything from medication to suicide prevention — will be gone by September.
They are decimating the VA.
This could mean that Veterans with cancer can’t get the treatment they need. Veterans Crisis Line operators who have seen a surge in calls, won’t have the support they need. Beds for mental health and detox will continue to be reduced. Veterans’ healthcare appointments will keep getting cancelled. Wait times, which have already risen, will continue to rise. All while clinics are operating with a fraction of the staff they need.
At the same time, Trump is patting himself on the back for giving billionaires a massive tax cut that adds trillions of dollars to the national debt. Pardon our French, but this is bullsh*t.
And today:
Trump’s attack on the Department of Veterans Affairs isn’t just taking away the jobs of thousands of Veterans, it’s also taking away the care that millions of Veterans and their families need.
I’ve been watching the VA since I was aware at family conversations at the dinner table growing up in an Air Force fighter pilot’s house. As did my career Marine’s daughter wife. This is the most anti-Veteran, anti-military administration in history - certainly my 75 year history. Losing 30,000 dedicated, talented VA professionals will only harm Veterans — and this is just the beginning.
