I posted in the possible replacements thread, but since this post is here, I'll do a quick summary.

    1. He started off by saying that he has no idea what is going on within the band right now. Said it like 4-5 times.
    2. He was asked if would be willing to jam with them again if asked and he said he's love to play with those guys anytime. He hasn't been asked back yet though.
    3. Said that playing with them at the R&R HOF induction was a lot of fun, and that afterwards, they guys were like, "we should jam sometime", but that hasn't happened yet, but that you never know with those guys. "You get a call one day and they say 'Hey. be down here at 5"

Agreed, and I think Jack Irons might be in the same boat.

If it was going to be any drummer from their past, I would think Matt Chamberlain, but my gut tells me it won't be anyone they had prior to MC.

    The 2000, 2003 & 2006 grinds? Yeah, I'd agree.

But the current format? I think that he'd be down.

He's been posting more PJ-related stuff on his social media, so I'd wager he's been practicing.

It just feels like the right & obvious choice. 🥁

Didn't Ed say something like "just like playing in [sic] old basement!"?

I guess it depends.  Is the reason why they have been touring in the current format due to MC?  If they had a younger drummer would they be open to more dates longer sets again?

It's all of them, but Matt wasn't afraid to be vocal about the stress that came with 30+ song sets.

I don't blame him. On the bright side, Ed's singing from 2021-onward hasn't been this good since 2008.

I think Matt told the band a while ago, and I think they've already got a damn good idea who his replacement is. Perhaps already decided.
