Thank you
As I think about Matt deciding to step away from the band, I can't help but think about how this isn't just another drummer leaving the band. Matt recorded more songs with Pearl Jam than any other drummer. He was in a sense Pearl Jam - he became just as important as the original four.
I can't help but think of the age of all of the guys - and while I hope they wouldn't hang it up - I would not be surprised at all if they decided to do so. The reason because they'd have to start a new version of Pearl Jam - when in fact, these last few tours was the BEST version of Pearl Jam (IMO).
Time is undefeated.
All I can say and all I want to say to Jeff, Matt, Mike, Stone & Ed is " Thank you". The chapters in my book have all of you in it as reoccurring characters with so many great stories, adventures and memories.
The greatest chapter was the last show I went to in Fenway 9/15 with my 9 year old son. We will never forget it.
Thank you.

RE: Thread Integrity:
I'm thankful for so much from this band, far too much to try to list, but one recent thing comes to mind: I got to scratch a major item off my bucket list last year, which was seeing Pearl Jam in Ireland. I'll be forever grateful I was able to make that happen. It was their 1st time playing there since 2010, so regardless of Matt's recent announcement, who knows if they will have ever make it back?
I'm also thankful for this community... traveling for these shows these last few years has been greatly enhanced by seeing the friends I've made here in this forum and at the shows. That's become a major highlight of traveling to see them, and I hope (expect?) we'll have a few more opportunities to do so before all is said & done.
I'm thankful for the music, the shows, the community... all of it.
Thank you.
