    The Creative Breakthrough
    Artist Zeb Love discusses their process behind the final poster of the Dark Matter World Tour: I’d go to the Carnegie Library and go up to the third floor and going through archived photos… sorta just taking notes and jotting down ideas. The process took almost a month to just come up with the idea… and eventually [I] kind of got stuck. I went over to Oakland to try a different coffee shop and on the window, I saw a huge Pittsburgh Panthers logo… I was like, ‘Oh! I forgot about the Panthers, what a cool approach!’ cause I’ve never done that before with Pittsburgh. I think getting myself out of my usual routine and going to a different location kinda opened up that door. Once I had that, it was like the missing piece cause I had the ironworkers shoveling coal in the furnace… The ship is definitely for the Pirates but it’s also for a Pearl Jam song, they have a songline… “Lonely ship on the horizon / Silhouette fading out”. I didn’t know how to tie it all together and the panther was pretty much the key. (Listen).
