Aren’t the tanks and military display because it’s the army’s 250th birthday that just happens to fall on the same day as trumps?
    You are correct!
Show us footage of the 200th anniversary parade.

Yes so? I believe this stupid parade is very purposeful dictator love parades to honor themselves
So? There’s anti-birthday protests going on around the country when the reality it’s a 250 army birthday parade.

250 years is a a big milestone, I’m sure they would have been a celebration no matter who was in the WH.
ive been hearing about this army parade for a month. I’ve been hearing about this ridiculous birthday parade for a few days. I thought it was a ridiculous celebration too. I only realized last night it’s the same thing. Those complaining about the birthday parade and show of military don’t even bother to mention it’s actually for a celebration of the army’s 250th birthday. Now all the protests seem silly when they don’t even know what they’re protesting.
However, I do respectfully disagree with this comment of yours: "250 years is a big milestone, I’m sure there would have been a celebration no matter who was in the WH."
In my opinion, there is no way the previous president, Jill Biden, or Kammie Harris (had that bad joke worked out) would have honored our brave millitary with a such a wonderful and impressive celebration. Thank you, President Trump!

If it were a celebration of the military that’s fine. Weird way to celebrate, but fine. When he tacks on his birthday and keeps mentioning it moves it well beyond weird to pretty gross and creepy.

I could see the point, and probably agree, if the army’s birthday was last month or something and he waited until today to celebrate it.
But the US army was literally established on June 14, 1775. 250 years ago from today.
    whoop de dooo.

we have no business wasting this much money on a vanity fair for trump.

look back in history and see if there were public parades by the army or any other branch on an anniversary. the 225th. the 200th.
    the end of ww2....

its one thing to have these on a base or multiple bases to commemorate a date. its another to have them on public streets.

And Tanks or Missle batteries? Soviets/Russia does that. China does that. North Korea does that.

Budgeted some 16 million out of the 45 for street repair. Is that wise fiscal responsibility when this fuck and his minions fired a bunch of people willy nilly and canceled a bunch aid programs without proper authority in the guise of reining in spending?
I think anyone in office would be having a celebration for the 250th anniversary of the army.
It probably wouldn’t be as big.
And, like many things the government does, is going to be over priced and a waste of money.
But I just don’t think it has anything to do with his birthday. Calling it a birthday parade seems ridiculous to me. He’s had 4 birthdays in office and he waiting until it la fed on the 250th anniversary of the army to celebrate it?

It’s costing too much and could have been smaller. And Trump wants to have bigger and more extravagant demonstrations while he’s in office to spotlight him and the “great” job he’s doing. But this parade would have happened if his birthday was 6 months ago. I just disagree with the motive for the lease many are saying. It’s a “look, America is great again” parade.

a real republican would have said that this is too expensive and they would have told trump to celebrate his birthday with his loving friends and family like everyone else.

this is a vanity parade. nothing more.
