How did people fare atĀ Colour Haiku today? Aside from the 100 Klausen Pearl Jam Pitts APs, Zeb Love said he'd have 10 of his Pearl Jam Pitts APs there.
All the best everyone trying to score @bradklausen Pittsburgh poster today at the art show.Ā

Was able to get both the Klausen and Zeb Love APs for a friend. Also picked up an Emek The Cure poster I like. Met some of the artists there, all nice people. Great gallery space and fun event.Ā
Fun day. I wish I had more time to hang out. I got the Zeb PIT AP and of course the Klausen AP. I had Brad sign my PIT show editions and my Nashville. Brad was super nice and very accommodating. Munk, as always, was too. I had him sign my Ohana deck.Ā
Pearl Jam/Tsurt need to get N.C. Winters on the roster. That dude does some amazing work. Check out his gig posters. He has a great graphic eye. This one is a 17 color silk screen.Ā

Emek wasnāt there in person, but they had a booth for him as there were a couple exclusive Emek letterpress prints available at the show. They also had some of his other prints like this yearās Coachella and some from the archives. Emek had his own show at the gallery last year for a couple months.Ā
Was tempted to buy the Foos Emek Handbill from last year since I bought one for a friend at the show and didnāt get one for myself, but had to resist. Have the full size print so that will have to do.Ā

They also had Emekās new Sublime print in different variants. Itās really gorgeous in person.. love that skeleton dog. Not a Sublime fan or wouldāve snatched it up. His latest Thievery Corp and Eryka Badu prints are both amazing in person as wellĀ

The more you
learn about the octopus, the more incredible these creatures seem. Iām
still not convinced theyāre not the most advanced species on this
planet, in terms of physical abilities and intelligence. From their
mind-blowing abilities to change the color and texture of their skin
through special cells in their skin (chromatophores) to their
unbelievable intelligence and ability to adapt their camouflage in
relation to the point of view of their would-be predators. They are
simply one of the most mesmerizing creatures Iāve ever seen.
The creation of the print was an exercise in discovery, patience, and
the challenge to push myself beyond my current capabilities in execution
of one of my largest and most technically challenging prints to date.
To add to the complexity, the print was designed for screen printing
with long-time collaborator and master printer Isaac Menge and his print
shop Lady Lazarus in Houston. Each of the 14 screens of color layer
were meticulously drawn, layer by layer to build up as much depth and
texture as I possibly could. This was a true collaboration, as Isaac
added several additional passes of ink for a final count of 17 total
color screens. Isaac and his team put in countless hours to try and make
this print as impressive as it could possibly be, and I'm happy to hear
that he considers this a portfolio show piece for his shop.
Iām excited to finally release āChromatic Intellectā into the world and
hope viewers can appreciate the incredible complexity and depth of the
perhaps seemingly simple portrait of the magnificent octopus.

There was 2 editions of this print made for sale on Pangeaseed.org an organization trying to help save the oceans. They do good work and offer some great art for sale to support the cause.Ā Check them out.Ā
