    I want to like Wednesday more than I do. Saw them open for Drive By Truckers and thought they were great. Just can’t get into the albums. I'm more into their sound than their songs if that makes sense.

    I know this is the de facto description, but I think it really undersells their dynamics (at least live). I get more Bulit To Spill or Sonic Youth in that part of their sound than shoegaze implies.

    (I also think shoegaze is overused as a descriptor. It has swallowed up a lot of noise, art, and psych rock which might be both more accurate and bring more ears.)

    I think I like MJ so much because he is influenced by a lot of bands I already love but he has found his own sound as well.  Been thinking about it.... he's my favorite new artist in the past 20 years (since I discovered MMJ).
