Kong i got so lucky on train back after the show....im never that lucky
You got lucky on a train with some guy named Kong?
Im not sure i want to hear this story.
Yea I think he was from Arkansas, had a sexy poster tube on his back and i couldnt resist.....i said hey big fella, I GOT an Ames Kong AP poster...you got a tube......you wanna make magic
Kinda shocked but not that some of the 2XL posters are going for $150 now. If I had the wall space that McCready print would be amazing.
I was wondering on the cost, to frame something of that size.
I did one last year. It was a little tricky and ended up piecing it together myself. All my local shops were telling me I’d be looking in the 1k range. The affordable online shops said they couldn’t ship the piece of acrylic that size. So I bought the frame from an online shop for about 130. When to Michales and they sold me a piece of foamboard for about 20. Then bought a piece of acrylic from Lowes for 60 or 70 maybe? They even had a hard time cutting it there because of the size. Had to make a smaller rough cut first. Have to get a bit of a thicker frame too cause the acrylic that size has a bit of weight to it.
I have a serious question for the poster experts here. As an investment? The Kong poster. At $2700. If one were to purchase this today, as an investment. Where do you see the value of this poster 5-10 years from now? When Pearl Jam stops touring does the merchandise increase in value substantially? Does it decrease? Does this poster max out at maybe $5000? Im just curious. And I did NOT buy it today. I do not own it. Im just talking.
Take me piece by piece..... Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....

I had that convo with my wife this afternoon and I really don't know either. I am also one, who didn't pull that trigger lol. She asked if I would have bought if I was single and not with her, I thought maybe since I also think it will raise in value, but even then I doubt I would. I mean I had two show versions I'll never get back lol

Almost all of the posters I bought between 96 and 03 went up in value. Significantly for any AP/signed ones. Very few sold for more than $2000. I say it is a do not buy for an investment. It is not even that great of a poster.

My wife would not give me a hard time if I purchased it. Don't get me wrong though. She would forever think I was a weirdo for spending $2700 on a poster, but she would allow me to purchase it. I think. Or she would divorce me instantly. Haha

Doing well Speedy. No contractors and no posters hahaha. I hope all is well with you!
Wife is in Italy, so I decided to really get this retirement plan going so I went and visited a financial planner yesterday. Of all the investments we were discussing, I was shocked he never mentioned Pearl Jam posters. Haha
Seriously though, I talked to this guy for well over an hour.

I feel like the old posters have really climbed in value in the past few years. I feel like posters can't even be found under $200 these days from anything back when I started seeing the band in 09-13

Talk to more of them and figure out which one makes sense. They all sell something which may not be right for you. My wife leaves for Italy tomorrow. Milan for two weeks. I see aged balsamic vinegar in my future.
EDIT: I have to drive to JFK tomorrow and every time I go there it makes me question why I live in this part of the country. The worst airport transportation in the world.
Green lady, missing link, charlotte wave and for me, the 98 MSG/NJ is one of my favs.
Years? Just to make it easier for me to research. Thank you.
Not sure. I think the Charlotte was 96.
It's good. I found them. Thank you.
Wife going to Italy? Work? Or just vacation and decided to leave you behind? Haha My wife and her sister planned this trip for Over a year. She had no intention of inviting me. Haha

Both work and vacation. She goes twice a year for some conference that I really do not care about. My vacation starts the minute I drop her off hahahaha. Even if I have to drive through Queens and the Bronx. Twice.
Yeah, I have seen that Charlotte poster before. So for approximately $10,000 I could invest in Charlotte, Green Lady, and for an additional $2700 I could get Kong.
If I did that? Then yes, the wife would divorce me.

What are the 4 "most sought after" pearl jam posters? What are considered the top 4 holy grail posters?
Holy grails? Probably everyone has their own. Some of mine:
1991 Texas Kozik, with Chili Peppers and Pumpkins - I prefer this one to the green/pink Lady poster by Kozik (and it's much rarer) 1994 Cleveland Derek Hess - the stage diving image sums up the concert vibe of the early 90s 1996 Charlotte Emek - combination of iconic image and superb artist 1998 Chicago Ames - I like that a lot. Still don't have it. 1998 Firehouse Virgin Megastore Yield Promo - there are only few die cut posters for Pearl Jam, first class printing ...

Cheaper than a boat LOL. Kong is overrated IMHO.
My favorite of all the posters would have to be the Wrigley Cracker Jack.

Ebay
1st edition $13,500?????
2nd edition $1500?
That's quite a difference.
In reality how much would that poster cost me?

I would not buy sight unseen, but easy 5-7K.
