I had that convo with my wife this afternoon and I really don't know either. I am also one, who didn't pull that trigger lol. She asked if I would have bought if I was single and not with her, I thought maybe since I also think it will raise in value, but even then I doubt I would. I mean I had two show versions I'll never get back lolSPEEDY MCCREADY said:I have a serious question for the poster experts here. As an investment? The Kong poster. At $2700. If one were to purchase this today, as an investment. Where do you see the value of this poster 5-10 years from now? When Pearl Jam stops touring does the merchandise increase in value substantially? Does it decrease? Does this poster max out at maybe $5000? Im just curious.
And I did NOT buy it today.
I do not own it.
Im just talking.Formerly Brew Crew Tix

Almost all of the posters I bought between 96 and 03 went up in value. Significantly for any AP/signed ones. Very few sold for more than $2000. I say it is a do not buy for an investment. It is not even that great of a poster.0

My wife would not give me a hard time if I purchased it. Don't get me wrong though. She would forever think I was a weirdo for spending $2700 on a poster, but she would allow me to purchase it. I think. Or she would divorce me instantly. HahaEn La Clandestinidad said:

Wife is in Italy, so I decided to really get this retirement plan going so I went and visited a financial planner yesterday. Of all the investments we were discussing, I was shocked he never mentioned Pearl Jam posters. HahaGet_Right said:Doing well Speedy. No contractors and no posters hahaha. I hope all is well with you!
Seriously though, I talked to this guy for well over an hour.

I feel like the old posters have really climbed in value in the past few years. I feel like posters can't even be found under $200 these days from anything back when I started seeing the band in 09-13Get_Right said:Almost all of the posters I bought between 96 and 03 went up in value. Talk to more of them and figure out which one makes sense. They all sell something which may not be right for you. My wife leaves for Italy tomorrow. Milan for two weeks. I see aged balsamic vinegar in my future.
EDIT: I have to drive to JFK tomorrow and every time I go there it makes me question why I live in this part of the country. The worst airport transportation in the world.Post edited by Get_Right on0 -

Both work and vacation. She goes twice a year for some conference that I really do not care about. My vacation starts the minute I drop her off hahahaha. Even if I have to drive through Queens and the Bronx. Twice.0 -
Yeah, I have seen that Charlotte poster before. So for approximately $10,000 I could invest in Charlotte, Green Lady, and for an additional $2700 I could get Kong.
If I did that? Then yes, the wife would divorce me.Take me piece by piece.....

Cheaper than a boat LOL. Kong is overrated IMHO.0 -
Holy grails? Probably everyone has their own. Some of mine:SPEEDY MCCREADY said:What are the 4 "most sought after" pearl jam posters? What are considered the top 4 holy grail posters?
1991 Texas Kozik, with Chili Peppers and Pumpkins - I prefer this one to the green/pink Lady poster by Kozik (and it's much rarer)
1994 Cleveland Derek Hess - the stage diving image sums up the concert vibe of the early 90s
1996 Charlotte Emek - combination of iconic image and superb artist
1998 Chicago Ames - I like that a lot. Still don't have it.
1998 Firehouse Virgin Megastore Yield Promo - there are only few die cut posters for Pearl Jam, first class printing

My favorite of all the posters would have to be the Wrigley Cracker Jack.Get_Right said:SPEEDY MCCREADY said:Yeah, I have seen that Charlotte poster before. So for approximately $10,000 I could invest in Charlotte, Green Lady, and for an additional $2700 I could get Kong.
