    I 100% agree that the VIP experience isn't worth the added cost.  Furthermore, the viewing area is to the side and a decent distance from the stage.  Last time I went I carved out a spot that was on the fenceline in front of VIP...  As I recall, in the past the VIP sell out...a buyer could wait it out and see what they are going for the day of the show or a couple of days before....but if @Ryan_WFC is wanting to make sure he has a VIP position, the ticket price will go up after the initial pricing.  

    They could not give tickets away day of. Best spot IMHO is in front of the soundboard. Great view of both stages. VIP felt miles away.
    Good intel on the VIP not selling out....I agree on placement in front of the soundboards....

    I did VIP in '21 and concur with the other opinions.

    If I do Ohana again I will not do VIP.

    So, I agree that VIP is not a great value; I buy VIP passes anyway, because my husband likes to splurge on that :shrug: VIP prices will not go down, and I would expect Friday VIP to sell out, as Ed is the big draw for this festival. If you want inexpensive GA passes, those will be available day of. If you're determined to get VIP passes, buy them now. There might be someone whose plans change in late September - I guess the question is, is it more important for you to get VIP tickets or to score the least expensive tickets possible?

    Have never missed an Ohana.. have never needed VIP... if you've got lots of $$ do what you want. $200 for a GA to all day fest plus crazy food prices is enough for me.

    Thanks to all for insight into GA vs. VIP tix. I too don’t need all the bells and whistles of VIP (swag bag, etc), however, I do like clean bathrooms and reasonable access to drinks and food.  Never been to Ohana, so want to do it right, but it sounds like VIP doesn’t give you much in the way of “viewing benefit” (which of course I do want to be at a vantage point to see the stage!).  I’d love more pros and cons… have a hotel, but snoozed on the 10c presale this morning so tickets are already going fast…..

    Friday VIP is sold out I believe, as are the 3-day VIP passes.

    Best access to food and restrooms is outside the venue on the beach. Not the best view though 😂

    You will have plenty of access to food and drink until about 5ish. Then it gets crowded and lines get long. Bathrooms are about what you would expect from a public park. The drinks are weak and expensive.

    I was actually at CalJam in 2017 and... skipped Cage The Elephant. I thought their early stuff wasn't all that good, but they have absolutely been killing it lately. Social Cues and Neon Pill are as good as anything in the last 5 years.

    One of the reasons I went to CalJam was to see Japandroids. I think they are done, but highly recommended if anyone has never listened to them.

    Japandroids are indeed done. Celebration Rock was one of my 2 or maybe 3 favorite albums of the 2010’s.

    I wish Caleb Followill a fast and speedy recovery....but, if he is not available,  I know the perfect replacement who got dropped from Linkin Park's overschedule of Dodger Stadium that would get some of us to the festival in a heartbeat.

    Wet Leg and Royel Otis have had a few bangers on Sirius XM Alt nation over the last few years. They will likely both be higher on the festival marquee in a few more years.

    Any input on the availability of ride share to and from the venue. I have accommodations booked in Laguna Beach. Wondering if I should bit the bullet and pay more to be closer to the venue and not have to rely on rideshare.

    No... God no.... why would you do that? It's like anywhere.. ride share busy but they'll be there.

    First act usually around noon... done by 10
