    whats wrong with the production?
Hmmm, well, poor quality(at least for a band with that funds)

could also be my copy, it has had it's share of roughness and been played almost to the point of melting :D

oh well, it still sounds great
and yes, they do sound better live, but they all do, cause that means you're seeing them :D

I like the non-I'm-drunk version better. In fact the original lyrics are really beautiful, and the drunk ones are just ramblings of a drunk.

I love that version from PinkPop, and have found that boot, and have Light Years from that concert ripped to my Ipod. Love that version, haven't heard a live version that I like better

  • An amazing song that helped me keep on living when I really didn't want to be in this place cause the day before that my dear person died i had some strange feeling inside and i was saying to myself "tell him that you love him"...but then i said "you're foolish, you never say that, it's understood that you love him"...the next day out of a sudden i woke up(some kind of feeling inside) and i knew before anyone had told me or before i had seen the ambulance...

This is why I'm thankful to PJ...they saved someone's life

"No need to be void,... or save up on life...
You got to spend it all....."

i know you don't wanna know this...but just sharing...

yeah i've been feeling the same way. i've always liked the song but on my way back to school after thanksgiving i found that song come on quite a bit as i shuffled through the pearl jam on my ipod. i really had the opportunity to sit quitely and take in the lyrics. it's a beautiful song, not just the lyrics, but the arrangement of the music and the way eddie's voice is so fluid, like it's not taking any effort for him at all to sing. love it!

Amen! The same exact thing happened to me!! Beautiful song!! :)

At the Pinkpop Festival in 2000 Eddie Vedder dedicated the song to Diane Muus from Sony Music, a friend of the band who passed away at the age of 33 in 1997.[2] He said there are "times you have got friends that don't fuck up at all and are great people. And then you just lose them for some reason. They are off the planet and you never had a chance to say goodbye. I only mention this because there was a person we used to know here and that was Diane and ah, we never got a chance to say goodbye. This is goodbye. And if you've got good friends, love them while they're here."
