2012 Eddie solo show in Vegas. I'm sitting 3rd row center. Ed brings up the EB cause and a guy in the front row slaps a 20 on the stage. Pandemonium ensues as people rush to the stage to donate. Ed says I didn't mean to donate tonight but I'll take it. The whole time this lady 5 rows back from me is screaming Eddie! Eddie! Eddie. People were telling her to pipe down but then Ed looks over to her and she says she will donate 5K if he plays Black. Ed says that he hasn't rehearsed Black for his solo show and brushes her off and gets back to the set. Later after his intermission they wheel a piano out and Boom Gaspar and Ed are trying to hash out the beginning of Black but are struggling. We say fuck it and just start singing so Ed sits on the front of the stage and we all belt it out acapella style. There wasn't a dry eye in the place including Ed.
I still wonder if she cut the check for 5K. Haha!0 -
