I just love this beautiful song it's so powerful - and when Ed starts to sing the lyrics that goes like...
"Things were different then, all is different now I try to explain somehow..."
.....hope this work somehow..
It's like he's trying to say something to someone... it's like filled with love
I guess I could write one of these celebrations to any song they have done..
bye

To worry about tomorrow doesn't make it easier,
it only makes today worse.
it only makes today worse.

I love the original, I was a bit disappointed with the way they changed the lyrics for the lost dogs version.A restaurant with a smoking section is like a swimming pool with a pissing section0

I think you're right. It does have that feeling of closeness to it. Like someone trying to explain or reveal something...
I like it. I'm glad it made it onto Lost Dogs.&&&&&&&&&&&&&&0 -
Beautifully sung, and fabulous music to this song. Props.0

paint a picture, forty shades of gray
light your pillow, lay back, watch the flames
i'll tell a story, no one would listen that long
it's hard to imagine, it's hard to imagine...
fuck tradition, no one's safe from harm
wait a little, cup and curse these arms
after having seen all that they saw
it's hard to imagine, it's hard to imagine...
things were different then, all is different now
i tried to explain, some how...
things were different then, all is different now
i tried to explain, some how...
things were different then, all is different now
i tried to explain, i hope this works somehow...
things were different then, all is different now
i tried to explain, oh, somehow...
ooh...oh...oh...
Lost Dogs version -
paint a picture, using only gray
light your pillow, lay back, watch the flames
i'll tell a story, no one would listen that long
it's hard to imagine, it's hard to imagine...
tear into yourself, count tales on your arm
ah the beating, tickin' like a bomb
after having seen all that they saw
it's hard to imagine, it's hard to imagine...
things were different then, all is different now
i tried to explain, somehow...
things were different then, all is different now
i tried to explain, somehow...
things were different then, all is different now
i tried to explain, i hope this works somehow...
things were different then, all is different now
i tried to explain, oh, somehow...
ooh...oh...oh...makes much more sense to live in the present tense0 -

I agree with you guys. This song seems to connect with some people on a personal and close level. It's a great song.20/04/06 ~ 23/08/06 ~ 09/09/06

to me it seems possibly about self-abuse...."count tales on your arm"...and it's s uch a part of their life...."tell a story, no one would listen that long"....they are fragments...but somehow fit together to me.
no matter what, it just feels like a song of longing, looking back...feeling regret. tis a tragic heartbreaker of a song, for me anyway, gets me every time.Stay with me...

awesome song, plain and simple. Cool to play on guitar as well

His voice is so emotional on this song. Nice and gravelly. Like he's lying right next to me. In bed. Hair's all mussed. Sleepy eyes. Pouty lips.
OK, I'll stop.Life is the riddle
