I figured I'd share this here. Yesterday I had an extra single in 117 CC to relist on TM. And as the last 2 days progressed, I could tell that this was becoming a hard show for some ppl to get decent tickets for (this was the first time in my last 13 shows that I was unable to upgrade to exactly where I wanted to be). And there were a lot of ppl looking for tickets. So rather than just posting the link unannounced, I posted in the PJ Nashville group on FB that I was about to list them, and that I'd drop the link in the comments. I figured that'd give at least a couple ppl a chance to see it and get ready before I listed. Anyway, I dropped the link, and the ticket sold instantly, before they even showed up on TM. So I could tell whoever got it, got it thru the link. But they never acknowledged that they got it. So, I had no idea who it was. Cut to the show. This guy shows up to sit in that seat. He's friendly enough. And we get to talking. I said, 'Just out of curiosity, did you see my post about that ticket on FB?' He goes, 'Oh, are you on TickPick?' I said, 'TickPick???' He says, 'Yeah, it's this awesome site where you can get tickets to any show you want!' And then he whips out his phone and shows me the receipt. So, I sold this ticket for $201 on TM at 3:56p. This guy then buys it for $709 at 4:08p on TickPick. This is less than 2hrs before doors open. Just goes to show that scalpers are always lurking. There's no safe time or place.
Yep... the walking in is safest. I'm just gonna have to give up soon. I'm very aware of Tick Pick .. have used in past. I still don't feel that the Facebook group is truly safe as anyone can join. Here at least you have to be in 10C.

That's annoying, but it seems to confirm my suspicions that maybe the best way to use the links is to just send them directly (in private) to one or more people instead of posting them publicly on Facebook or here...
I've had success with link drops 3 times this tour, one was public link drop on Facebook for a Pittsburgh pair and I was actually shocked I managed to buy them. The other two were direct links sent to me (one was for another pair of Pittsburgh tickets).
Being a software engineer and very curious, I was trying to work out how a bot or scalper could potentially snipe a ticket drop before the tickets showed up on the map, and I think the only realistic way would be if they got a hold of the link in the first place. My guess is that the bots likely monitor the event page to see what tickets become available and then quickly purchase the ones which are of interest, but there's a window of about 2 minutes between the link going live and the tickets showing up on the event page and I couldn't see any way in which a bot could find out that tickets were available during this window. Those 2 minutes should be more than enough time for the tickets to be purchased before they start showing up on the map, so in theory a bot monitoring the event page shouldn't be able to snatch the tickets unless no one was able to purchase on time them using the link.
In theory it'd be possible for a bot to "guess" the URL of a valid link by brute force but I think it's highly unlikely. I also thought about the possibility of some "backdoor" (like some special backend access) which a bot could use to know that tickets have been listed before a normal user could, but the fact that some link drops have been successful makes me think that's also unlikely otherwise the bots would be snatching absolutely every ticket for these high demand shows like Pittsburgh. Or maybe they only snatch a percentage of tickets to not make it so obvious that they are bots? 🤷

That is incredibly disheartening. You should share this with 10c to make sure they are aware of the extent to which this is happening. This is a perfect example of just how broken the current system is. Although well-intentioned, fan-to-fan has officially become fan-to-bot. I hope they completely revamp the ticketing system for next tour.

Myticket partner and I just had links sent DIRECTLY TO US and it still failed. Too many people trying and some brokers have so many tricks. The only sure thing is swapping log in or walk in

Weirdly I got a U533 error which should be some type of payment error, then I had to retry but at that point it was too late because my 2-minute window had gone and the ticket was already on the map...
But I agree, the only bulletproof way is to walk in together or exchange TM login info.

found a pair I tried to buy today for PGH N1 on Stubhub.... ugh. I want to keep trying, but feel like if anything is going to work for that show, it'll be day of or day before. I don't know if I can bring myself to stop, though

1) Ticket sales strictly TM only. Elimination of all ways to sell a TM ticket on any other platform = tickets bought on other platforms are invalid. Everyone can read about this restriction on the TM site. 2) TM ticket resale limited to 1. If someone has bought a ticket via the TM resale option, this ticket is sold out of the market. No way to sell it again.
