Yeah, thankfully neither of those angry old little (white) men have broad powers to impose their will on the country. You should like them though if you're a fan of the angry old man running the country on a revenge tour instead of a help the common citizen focus.

That’s some really good food for thought, thank you.

Thank you also for touching on the additional 4 million victims of the Holocaust, they need to be remembered alongside the 6 million Jewish victims.

Excellent point. But a dinner invite to the White House being compared to the holocaust can only make the left look more out of touch with reality and middle America, and if anything, hurtful to those impacted so badly by WWII
    Lol, ok "Bill"

Lol! Well God knows, Bill-the-Catholic-Atheist-Maher would know better than Larry David the Jew who lost family in the holocaust about what would be insulting to victims of the holocaust.

I do believe much of the wisdom and experience of old geezers like me can be useful, important, and relevant, and that Maher and Gore are just two people of a generation, not the whole.  There are older people who are staying very relevant.  Bernie Sanders, Joan Baez, and Dan Rather (to name a few) come to mind.  I am not going to give myself kudos, but I strive to stay informed and up with the times and not fall back on old 60's cliches and idealism.  That's how I ended up on a forum like this one and, consequently, why when I mention my favorite bands, most of my peers don't know what the hell I am talking about. The survival of Democracy is going to rely on all of us who believe in it's value to work together.  So please don't write off all of us old fuckers!
Oh, absolutely! I didn't mean to come off as dismissive of anyone who is older. As I often say, "Agism is the only -ism with a built-in irony." I think there are a multitude of people doing great work, but I do find myself frustrated with political leaders who are unwilling to cede their seat at the table. But I appreciate your perspective here greatly!

Bill has lost all credibility. I wouldn’t take anything he says seriously. And it’s not because of his health issues.

Bill Maher, host of the political talk show “Real Time with Bill Maher,” suggested that Fetterman should run for president in 2028. Conservatives — who had long made Fetterman a target for his progressive politics — have sprung to Fetterman’s defense.

It seems quite a few posters think he does because of his criticism of the Dems and having dinner with COOTWH.

WHOA, Tim, hold on a second.  I know there are boomers who are smug (as there are gen x'ers, gen z's, etc., ad infinitum).  For sure.  But your wording sounds an awful lot to me like ageism and generalizing.   People of certain generations are not all the same thing.  And smug energy can be a thing in a lot of different people of different ages.  It's not just a baby boomer thing.
Maybe you meant something else, but you might consider your wording.

And look, if I sound like I'm being defensive about my generation, forget it.  I'm not.  But I will defend good people who let lumped in with the asshole.

No matter who Rogan has on, I just can't stand that guy and could never listen/watch his show. I've watched a few Theo Von clips here and there and while he's tolerable, he's still not someone I could handle listening to on an extended basis. Much like talk radio, most extended podcasts have never been my thing. I do like investigative episodes that are based in fact. People riffing with their "bros", naw.

Well…the reply was to a sarcastic “people may have watched it.” With his podcast at three, it seems some do listen/watch him?

Bill Maher’s uncancellable podcast studio has been cancelled.

In 2024, the late night comedian launched Club Random Studios, a podcast company built around his show of the same name. But less than two years later, the comedian’s podcast studio ceased operations, two people familiar with the situation told Semafor.

The website that once hosted the network’s shows no longer works. Comedian Matt Friend’s podcast has not shared a full episode since late last year. Journalist Rikki Schlott, who announced a show with the network last year, also hasn’t shared an episode in months.

Club Random Studios did not return a request for comment.

i don't listen to podcasts. mainly because most of the ones i have heard are stupid and or sharing disinformation.

maybe his relevance is why people are so stupid then.
