Wing & a Prayer Song Request - Atlanta night one 4.29.25 - Hard to Imagine
Very long shot here, but throwing a hail mary in the event anyone in proximity to the band happens to see this! It's a good story.
Longtime PJ fan (since the beginning) with a modest 32 shows under my belt. Seeing this one with my sister, Belinda, just the two of us together at a PJ show for the first time.
Belinda has always been a huge music fan, but PJ got too big, too quick for her liking...she was more into the Cure and a number of underground indie bands...too cool for a popular act like PJ. In fact, like any good standing member of Columbia House and BMG back in the day, she had Ten, VS. and Vitalogy, which she gave to me because she couldn't listen to them any longer.
For YEARS (like over 20) I did my best to be an evangelist. Every road trip, every new album, deep cuts, etc. I unsuccessfully tried to get her to come to shows with me over that timeframe as well, UNTIL she came with me and some others to the show at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit in 2014 (we are from Michigan).
Halfway through Release (opener) she looked me dead in the eyes and said "holy shit, I get it...I totally get it". She felt the energy, and has every day since!
Pearl Jam is far and away her favorite band and has been since that fateful day in Detroit. She's "all in" and regrets missing out on the earlier years and resisting my efforts to convert her along the way.
Her favorite song is Hard to Imagine and she hasn't caught that one live yet. I find it serendipitous, because her and my collective relationship with Pearl Jam getting to this point, is...well...hard to imagine!
Looking forward to a great and very special show, regardless.
