Just getting back from a quick trip home to the beautiful PNW. Got a chance to catch up with Rob Sheridan, and get a tour of the “Sheridan Studio” where all the amazing footage of Pearl Jams new “Dark Matter” background video footage was created.

I’m not sharing secrets but it’s impressive to see that many of the images/motions were made by hand, while others were with the use of simple devices, but leave it to Rob & Stephanie Sheridan with the help of Eddie Vedder and Jeff Ament and some pretty amazing magic can happen.

These photos debuted at the Ohana Festival this year and were some of the fans favorites.

There are 6 limited edition photos, shot in Seattle’s own Climate Pledge Arena. Each photo is an edition of 25, available in 2 sizes and are signed and numbered by Rob Sheridan.

Link to art shoppe on the profile page w proceeds benefiting the Vitalogy Foundation.

Rob Sheridan is a Seattle-born and based multi-disciplinary artist, designer, photographer, author, and creative director. Working closely with his producer/wife Stephanie Sheridan, Rob’s work has raised money and awareness for humanitarian aid, environmental causes, voting rights, racial justice, LGBTQ+ rights, mental health awareness, wildfire relief, and ocean conservation.

In December of 2023, Eddie Vedder approached Rob Sheridan to create on-stage visuals for Pearl Jam’s, Dark Matter World Tour. It is the first time the band has ever used supporting visuals for their live performances.

To create the work, Rob and Stephanie converted a small space in an old industrial building into a “lab” of sorts where they spent months immersed in experimental filmmaking. Opting for analog tools and practical elements instead of computer generated effects, the couple trained their 1000fps slow-motion camera and macro lenses on an array of organic materials. Together they traced patterns in nature from the microscopic to the cosmic.

From a droplet in a petri dish to the vast waves of the ocean; from the first sparks of a flame to billowing flares on the surface of the sun; from the nucleus of the iris to the nebulas of the cosmos; we are all one, connected by the invisible forces of Dark Matter.

Thanks to everyone who picked up one of my signed @pearljam rehearsal photo prints at the Ohana art show and supported the Vitalogy Foundation! I recently signed the remaining prints here at our studio where we filmed most of the #DarkMatterTour visuals (pic 2), and they are now available online exclusively via @adlersmithgallery - check their bio link! Only a handful of these, they would make a great gift for PJ fans and support a great cause!

There are six different official framed signed/numbered metallic pearl fine art prints of rare photos I captured at the only Peal Jam dress rehearsal for Dark Matter at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle earlier this year, and proceeds benefit PJ’s Vitalogy Foundation.

Catching up with @adlersmithgallery so I can sign more @PearlJam photo prints. Thanks to all who have picked some of these up since the @theohanafest art show! This is “Won’t Tell,” one of six limited metallic pearl fine art prints produced for the Cove Gallery to proudly support the Vitalogy Foundation. I captured this rare set of photos of my work on display behind the band as they performed in an empty Climate Pledge Arena, Seattle, WA, May 1st, 2024, during the only dress rehearsal for the Dark Matter tour. The last two slides are close-ups to show how much detail there is in these big photos. Visit @adlersmithgallery’s site to see the available signed/framed prints!

I caught up with our friend Charles Adler of the @adlersmithgallery to sign more of the @pearljam rehearsal prints that you’ve picked up to support the Vitalogy Foundation (thanks!).

Interestingly, it was exactly one year ago that we were putting the finishing touches on the Dark Matter tour production, working long hours in an empty Climate Pledge Arena on the visuals and lights, preparing for the first, last, and only full dress rehearsal before the tour was to begin days later in Vancouver. I took photos of that dress rehearsal, the only ones that exist of the band performing in front of my art reflected on an empty arena floor. They became an exhibit at the Ohana festival’s Cove Gallery last year to raise money for charity, and now they’re making their way to some of your walls.

Some of these are still available exclusively through the gallery — professionally framed personally signed/numbered metallic pearl prints. They’re tricky to photograph in this brightly-lit room, but I think you can see they’re beautifully printed with a luminous sheen and exquisite detail. These make great unique gifts for Pearl Jam collectors, for a good cause.
