**Please play PARTING WAYS in RALEIGH**
I know there’s pretty much no chance of this happening and I’m certain there are more worthy reason for song requests but it would mean the world to me if the band could play Parting Ways in Raleigh this year.
Back in 2020 my life was kind of turned upside down when my fiancé left me unexpectedly. We were supposed to get married in April 2020 but when everything shutdown and with all the stress and disappointment etc we ended up drifting away from one another and she left me later that year. It was extremely tough on me but listening to Pearl Jam really helped me through it and my appreciation for the band skyrocketed. I had seen them 9 times prior to my breakup but since, I’ve decided to live more in the present tense and I have gone to 12 shows in the past 3 years including traveling to Chicago, NYC, Philly, Austin, and most recently Hollywood, FL (I live in VA).
I will be at the two Raleigh shows with a friend who I used to work with and saw PJ with at MSG in 2008 but had lost contact with for the better part of 10 years. He had moved across the country after a rough divorce of his own but we both joined the fan club in 2023 and I hit on pit tickets for night 2 amazingly and we were able to get tickets for night 1 as well so we met in Chicago and it was just like we never lost touch. We met up again the following year for the two Wrigley shows and are just thankful to the band for being the impetus for us reconnecting. We both went through some somewhat heavy shit and lost some friends way too young so we try to live in the present tense as much as possible and not take things for granted. It would be extremely cathartic to hear Parting Ways (which we both obviously love) as our respective breakups led to us reconnecting and to making positive life changes that probably wouldn’t have happened otherwise.

I feel selfish even asking for anything, making these trips and meeting all the cool, kind hearted people in the fandom has been more than enough of a reward. I just wanted to give a shout to all of the people in this fan club that I have met on my travels in merch lines, at shows and just in cities while visiting. Going to these shows are the highlights of my year and no matter what is played, it will be an amazing time!
