An Apology - 10 Years in the Making

Hello all,
It’s been about 10 years since a much younger, less wiser me had made a post on here trying to rally together fellow (at that time) supporters of the individual that is present day residing (when not golfing) in the White House.
Back then I was quite active on the forums and was still a teenager - not having fully developed my own political beliefs and instead followed along with the views of those around me by default. In the time since, I have greatly changed for the better and feel resentment and regret for how I was and portrayed myself.
For years I have wanted to come on here to make this discussion post but my anxiety always stopped me from doing so. I am well aware that that discussion and my comments there and other posts are 99.99% long forgotten, but I’ve always been hesitant in coming back to post really anything once I had begun to rethink my old ways of thinking. I felt anxious that any time I’d post again, my post/comments could be pulled up and there would be an impression of me that is now outdated and no longer true.

With all that said, I would like to apologize for what was said in A Moving Train way back then and hope that anyone who has seen any past comments of mine here and somehow remembers can forgive me.
Now - I will get out of here and appreciate anyone who has read this through.
Thank you.
Thank you.

OP, I agree with Mickey.
We all can change and evolve. (For better or worse, but hopefully for better.)

To be honest, Pearl34Jam, I don't remember any of your posts from ten years ago or even if I was on here ten years ago. But I can honestly say, even if I did remember any of that, none of it would have any bearing on how I feel about you. How could anyone hold any of those old tapes against you, both it light of how long ago it was, and especially in light of your fine words are here? And by that I mean, what you said goes beyond politics. It goes to a place that is truly thoughtful and motivating. I think what you said is terrific. I hope I could be that unpretentious and humble myself more often. You set a fine example.

I would just echo what Brian said. I have a lot of respect for people who are able to examine their opinions and beliefs and change them upon growth and reflection, and I particularly admire people who can acknowledge publicly that they were wrong.
