Me as well! I can't find any details on Discogs about it though.
Hard to believe it was 25 years ago… saw 8 shows in like 11 or 12 days. 🤘🏻 Cincinnati Columbus Jones Beach 1 Jones Beach 2 Jones Beach 3 Boston 1 Camden 1 Camden 2
I am surprised at this list. You mentioned you saw eight shows in 2000. DO you believe, you have the ability to rank them? I attended some but not all. I know how the bootlegs sound for shows I missed but that does not make up for date of week, weather, venue, what happened at the show the night before, which totally influenced setlist, very obvious for the JB123/Camden, NJ 12. How did you miss the Boston 2? I will sit back and wait for a response.
A new take on the Binaural audio mix is intriguing. I always wondered what Binaural songs would sound like if they recorded it in their Backspacer era, or better yet, Dark Matter era. Both groove better and have more aggressive audio production. Binaural studio production drags, depending on the mood. Perhaps Josh Evans can bring out some more punch and space with spatial audio.

Haha. How did I miss Boston 2? I had to show up for work at some point. I also had season tickets to the Yankees back then and I needed to save some time off for the post season run that I knew was on the way. I ended up seeing every playoff and World Series game at Yankee Stadium that year.
I’m not big into ranking shows. They were all excellent. Lots of Binaural that run of shows… I think we got Insignificance 7 out of 8 shows. One of my all time favorites… So good! Huge energy and great set list variation at all the shows. If I had to pick a favorite it would be Jones Beach 2. Loved the venue and set list, but the It’s Ok tag puts it over the top for me.

The last thing this band needs is more albums mixed like Dark Matter. It is one of, if not, the worst engineered album in their discography.

Mixing and engineering are two different parts of making a record. So, not sure what exactly you mean. I happen to think Dark Matter is one of their best produced albums, from engineering, songwriting, performance, and mix. I've heard complaints about Dark Matter production, and I don't agree...
Here's where I rank their albums production-wise:
Top 3 (most focused all around production): Vs., Yield, Dark Matter
Middle 4 (great sounds/mix, not as focused production-wise): Ten, No Code, Backspacer, Riot Act
Middle/lower 3 (great performances, not as focused production) : Lightening Bolt, Gigaton, Vitalogy
Least focused all around: Avocado, Binaural
Note: This is not my desert island rank, which can be a completely different conversation

Interesting. Congratulations on all of the World Titles. That was some run 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000. 2000 was good, 1998 the best run. Insignificance almost made a 2024 appearance but got slashed.
Can we get a re-pressing of the original mix please?
I'm hoping they do a VMP pressing of Binaural, like they did for Yield.
Doubtful as VMP's death is imminent
What makes you think that?
To make a long story short, they've had significant corporate and ownership upheaval, they don't do monthly records or new releases and have just been liquating old stock, they take forever to ship in stock records and rarely reply to customer service inquiries anymore.

Where would you put Riot Act within those 3 categories?
Ahh whoops, brain fart (added now)! I think Riot Act engineering and mix sound great. Songs and performances are a bit sluggish, but focused. I would put Riot Act in the middle range production effort, along with Ten, No Code, and Backspacer (each with classic PJ songs, great recording/mix). Middle-range albums are tough to sort through, I think about all aspects from songs, production, mix, etc. I could go on for days here, and it's just my obsessive fan opinion. I went to music school and earned a degree in audio engineering, so I have a good idea of what goes into recording and what music consumers are hearing. But also to each their own.

A music school grad with a degree in audio engineering who believes Dark Matter is well mixed and mastered? Ok, buddy. Putting it anywhere near VS and the newly cut Yield 45rpm vinyl is insane.
Dark Matter is their *best* produced album in recent memory in terms of the song quality. How much of that is Watt or the boys simply dedicating weeks in a studio to crank out songs, one can only guess, but I tend to believe it's the latter. The last few albums suffered from being all over the place and less focused because they were recorded over several years. PJ seems to put out their best stuff when they dedicate themselves to the studio.

I see where you’re at. Dark Matter mix/master is more compressed and gated at times. I don’t think that’s such a bad thing at all, but I understand why it bothers some audiophiles. Mixing after all, is overrated. But you admit that it’s one of their best produced albums. I don’t think it’s ONLY the songs. They got killer sounds and performances on DM. To each their own. I does seem like we agree that Yield is their best sounding album.

Insignificance comes from the Nothing as it Seems single. A lot of the others come from promotional CDs released before Binaural or Lost Dogs came out.
