Ditto, Mexico looking to Argentina.
With those 4 markets, that's $5.4 Billion, 68% of USA's beef exports. Gone.
USA will never get it all back, if any.
Ever.
Still, America, it's all worth it to 'Own Da Libs', right ?

Look, I wouldn't be as strident as my Swedish friend*, but it's also not as cut and dried as you suggest. Raising animals for food not only causes suffering, but it also has negative externalities for the environment. Having said that, I am a vegetarian and I can't think of a single instance where someone was lectured into vegetarianism.nicknyr15 said:

I appreciate your choice but to me it is cut and dry. It comes down to minding your business and not calling someone’s dietary choices vile. Comes off as extremely condescendingBF25394 said:

After offering up a “zero-for-zero tariff” to avoid a trade war (which Trump refused), the European Commission has greenlit tariffs of up to 25% on:
Cigarettes from Florida, beef from Kansas and Nebraska, chicken from Louisiana, car parts from Michigan, and most importantly, soybeans.

I don't disagree with you. I've never hectored anyone about eating meat. I'm just saying it's not as simple as "to each their own." There are externalities to our choices.nicknyr15 said:

I'm not condoning his stridency. I clearly said that. I don't think it's warranted or appropriate, and I think it's counterproductive. What's not cut and dried is that whether or not to eat meat is not merely a personal choice that has no effect on others. Perhaps this is true at the individual level but, collectively, our system of animal agriculture has negative consequences for the animals and for the environment. That's all I'm saying.mickeyrat said:BF25394 said:

And you are happily defending, supporting and consuming living beings that feel the same feelings of survival as you, yet still being tortured and killed, not having had the chance to live the live that was given to them. Like you would use your last bit of energy and your last breath to get to do. Trying to say it is condescending to consider that vile?
Not to speak of the environmental impact. But I imagine they are of little concern when "minding ones own business". Go watch the fires in California when you get the chance. Or travel to see the droughts in Africa. While minding your own business.
How is it not vile I wonder.Post edited by Spiritual_Chaos on"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0 -
