Cray-ZEE to me that people can't even talk to people that aren't members of their party, much less cut family members out of their lives and kids/grandkids lives.

I've actually experienced the opposite, that they prefer new threads as opposed to resurrecting old ones.

it usually completely depends on each situation. Sometimes the magas in their lives have gone totally down the rabbit hole and it's their complete identity and can't talk about anything else. They love to "trigger" others with their "did you hear what Trump said today? I LOVE IT! give it to dem libruls!". People who are insufferable are difficult to be around, no matter the reason.

we know the backstory. The right and the left have trouble coming together cuz now it's like asking the oppressed why they don't want to be friends with their oppressors. It's getting really tiring listening to the right moaning about how the left is now somehow making life all about politics when we've had to endure their culture wars the last decade. When we have idiots like KR shooting at Bud Light boxes cuz he's anti-trans. And people in trump's admin laughing at tearing families apart while a guy rots in a 3rd world prison.

It's concerning when something awful happens to someone associated with party X and then some people associated with party Y take joy in it.

Then something awful happens to someone associated with party Y and now some people associated with party X feel the need to take joy it as it was done to them.

We hear the "what about X/Y person/topic?", "now do X/Y person/topic..." and "where were you when..?"

Over and over again.

Nothing gets accomplished and we are just fighting amongst ourselves.

I truly believe that the majority of X & Y condemn violence of all kinds, but the vocal minority feel the need to point fingers at others, yet ignore or justify when it is their tribe.

And yes, I guess it sucks to see another person normalize Trump. From Maher saying all that to when Biden stated, "Welcome Home" prior to the inauguration after all that was said during the campaigns.

Life is too short to spend it with people you don't enjoy being around, but if it's because they voted one way or another or drive a certain car 😉, I just don't understand being away from family/friends etc

Screw that my side of the family the Chilean side voted for this garbage I let them know my disappointment in them! I keep it cordial only talk to them about my elderly father’s well being and medical appointments that’s about it, I’m an immigrant I will never vote for anyone who treats good intended folks like me as if we’re disposable 🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽that!

Totally. The whole spiel really irritated me.

Bill said he was just going to give his interpretation and that we should interpret it however we felt.

His main point was that he didn't see any of the psychotic dear leader that we see daily. In private he was relatively normal, he took criticism from him without lashing out, he didn't go on and on about Biden's age, his greatness, etc. He had no idea that he had reversed some Obama era directives that he was complaining about in the meeting.

I watched it the other day as well. I mean, it was what we already knew about him. The campaign/politician Trump is an exaggerated caricature playing to the base of sycophants with divisive rhetoric and the private Trump is a schmoozer looking for attention. If nothing else, it just confirms what a piece of shit he is who will do whatever it takes to make money and stomp on those who get in his way. Bill was a useful idiot for a night, congrats I guess?

I agree that it confirms that trump is a complete piece of shit. To me that was the point.

If that was the point he should have made that more clear. He didn't.

I think tbergs useful idiot comment is closer to the truth.

I just don't see it that way. Bill is doing the same thing that Newsom did by meeting with the "enemy"

I didn't get that at all from the segment... my takeaway after watching it was just how normal and down to earth trump is behind the scenes.
