Hoping the band will play Felicity's Surprise in FL/GA/PA (I'm that guy w/the sign from last tour)

Hey there! I have had quite a few people ask me if I am going to be going to the 2025 shows after I lugged my sign around to 16 shows last year (it's been torn, confiscated, but I always was able to get it back and repair it!). I've been taking the "Why the Surprise Felicity?" sign around now for a year... Ed and Matt have both acknowledged it (numerous times, bless 'em), but I'm really hoping I get to hear this song on the '25 tour! I got a tambourine even though I was in the very BACK of GA thanks to Eddie in Seattle.

Eddie had mentioned Felicity's Surprise in an interview for Dark Matter as a song he'd like to perform again, and it's my favorite song (if you can't tell by the fact that my username has been Wellwater Conspiracy since 2000).

I plan on continuing to lug that sign with me to every show I can get to. This year I'll be at PIttsburghx2, Atlantax2 and FL N2 (really really trying to get FL N1 tickets because I'll be in the building anyway, fingers crossed). I wish I could do more but the dates don't work out as well as last tour for me - such is life.

Oh and by the way I NEVER hold this sign up and block people's view during songs, I only flash it so the boys on stage can see it and only later in shows. I don't want to negatively affect anyone's enjoyment of the show.

If you see me with the sign please come say "HI!" Maybe we will hear this tune and maybe not but I'm keeping hope alive, and I've really enjoyed the journey and meeting so many kind and kindreds along the way. And if Stone, Jeff and Mike are tired of seeing it all they have to do is play it once lol

Never heard it before. Sounds like the who, Beatles and pj mashed together.

If nothing else, along the way I have introduced this song (and also, Wellwater at large) to so many people around the country.

It's a shame it only got live play in the 2000 era. I'm doing what I can to try and bring it back!

That album by WWC was very acid-rock influenced, and does have some early Who vibes to it.

  • It's unfortunate the entire album seems to be off streaming - a rights issue I am sure, but kinda sucks that it's so hard to find outside of physical media (yes I know of YouTube, not really a great way to play a tune in the car though).
