Is Don Rosa not known in the US?

This really surprised me? He is an absolute icon here in Sweden/the Nordics and his stories defined the world of Scrooge and his family. At least for us growing up in the 80s/90s. Just stumbled upon a youtubevideo saying that he largely unknown in the US. Is this true?
