That we didn't get "one for the serious collector" at either Fenway show was a shocker.stones said:Rarities are becoming rarer the past few years but during the DM tour in particular.___________________________________________

Yeah that surprised me too... but then they followed that by playing Whale Song, Gremmie, Big Wave and Future Days at Ohana. So if nothing else that does show that they can still play some rarer songs if they want to.JimmyV said:

I guess you guys in the US (and hopefully us in Europe if they tour here in 2026) may get rarer songs in the April/May shows than were played last year, much like the 2023 Gigaton US shows compared to the 2022 ones.JimmyV said:

I've always been of the "play whatever you like" way of thinking but yeah, it would certainly be nice to see a bit more setlist variety especially for the two-night-one-city-stands... I don't feel like they need to keep playing Wreckage every night.drfox said:

Those shows sounded great but the setlists were nothing to write home about.JimmyV said:

Truthfully this isn't even really about the super-rare stuff. I mean hardly anyone has seen Hitchhiker as it's only been played once, this thread generally seems to highlight those songs in that mid-tier that aren't the setlist staples yet once were quite common but nowadays seemingly don't get a look-in at all.Post edited by stones on0

Night 2 of 2018 was pretty interesting. As was Night 2 of 2016. I did not attend Night 1 of 2016 but I think that was the show of the year in 2016. The 2024 fenway shows were very underwhelming.SVRDhand13 said:

this thread has gone sideways. I don't have any commonly played songs I have not caught live, unless you count some backspacer era because it did not see any shows from 2009 thru 2012 and only saw 3 shows from 2013 through 2016.His eminence has yet to show.

I was there! Huge bathroom exile for that song. I didn't realize that's the only time it was played. 4/28/16 hugely underrated show.stones said:Truthfully this isn't even really about the super-rare stuff. Yeah bringing it back to the main crux of this thread Backspacer definitely does count... Some people for instance have mentioned never seeing The Fixer. Played 96 times in total but yet has become a rarity these days.PB11041 said:this thread has gone sideways. As an aside, I think when you look back historically at these things, who'd have thought the most played song on Avocado would be Severed Hand? Or Unthought Known for Backspacer?0 -
I've only been to three shows, but I was still surprised to learn I've never seen State of Love & Trust live. That said, I was more surprised by the number of songs I've witnessed live that they've rarely played, some only once. I was at the Soldier Field show in 1995, so that is the main reason for the rarest ones I think. The Champaign show had a couple, too, and Eddie played Imagine for the first time live at the St. Louis show apparently.1995 - Soldier Field, Chicago, IL
2003 - Assembly Hall, Champaign, IL
2014 - Scottrade Center, St. Louis, MO

Was this at Soldier Field in Chicago in 1995? That was my first show. They opened with Release around sunset and it was glorious.GlowGirl said:
The first song I ever saw them play live at my very first show was Release. I have only seen it played 4 times total in all the years since.23scidoo said:
12 shows, no Release either..deb1211 said:I've only had 11 shows, but for me it's Release.
I miss it every time...yet have seen Out of my Mind 2x, Tremor Christ 2x, of the girl 3x m, glorified g 2x and Wash 3x
And I was in Chicago in 2018 when they didn't play Release.0 -
Let's hope for some of these songs getting an outing on the spring tour. It would be great to get a few more setlists like the 2 Ohana shows where they deliberately mixed in the DM stuff and usual setlist staples with some songs they haven't played for a while...
Personally I'd love to hear some of the songs that have dropped off from the Binaural, Riot Act, Avocado era.0 -
Fenway 2024 was much better than Fenway 2018 but as SVRDhand13 says, 2016 beats them both quite a bit. With 2016 night 2 being the crown jewel of all 6, IMO. For me, I think playing at Fenway has just lost it's luster at this point. Get back to TD or Worcester bub.0

After 48 shows I’ve been lucky it looks like. The song played the most that I haven’t seen is Can’t Deny Me played 16x. Anything played over 16x I’ve been lucky enough to see at least once0
