Audioslave- Sleight of Hand

all or most of the Rage guys were huge fans of Cornell and Soundgarden, so I'm sure it was an easy decision to work with him given the opportunity. Rage was always obviously political, but obviously that wasn't CC's style, so it made sense for him to say going in "this isn't how I write" so it makes sense that they wouldn't engage politics outside of the band either.darthvedder said:
I don't think it was a good fit for Cornell. To join a political band and make a demand going into it that they do no political songs? It makes sense because that wasn't his forte. But how could the rest of Rage settle for that type of songwriter? That made no sense at all.Mike D88 said:Remember that time somebody interjected, "actually, this band sucks," and everyone thanked them for it?
it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility, either, that maybe not being political and just focusing on the music was a much needed/wanted break for those guys. Tom still had/has his solo stuff that I believe is political, so he has that outlet as well.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0 -
i hope this gets released one day.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0

yes, CC was clearly more comfortable with the politic end of things as time went on.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0

Tom M talks about the bands relationship to politics in his interview with Billy Corgan.HughFreakingDillon said:yes, CC was clearly more comfortable with the politic end of things as time went on.
And, Revelations is great. Out of Exile feels a bit like a ”oh wait we are a band who gets singles into heavy rotations” reaction to the introduction of the band.
Revalations is a great follow up to the first album."Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0 -
I saw a short clip of Tom on Billy's podcast. I'll have to watch. Even with my criticisms of Revelations, Moth is one of the best songs in their repertoire. Love it.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0

I love the first two songs on Revelations-would put them up against anything they have done.
Wish Exile had a better sound. I usually dig what Tom does with his guitar solos-but I hated some of his work here which was disappointing. The breakdown on Man or Animal...yuck.Stars are suns to other people.
