I heard this might be true last night but went into denial, knowing it was near the end for the great David Johansen.
Feeling gut punched.

    Ground breakers, for sure!
It's hard to think that they are all gone.

All heavy losses.  How I wish I had gotten to see the Ramones.

Saw Ramones twice. Honestly nothing too memorable. 1234 song. 1234 song 1234 song 1234 song. Maybe I didn't know their material well enough back then to really enjoy it. Richie Ramone (not og member) still tours and does a fantastic job (as of 2019 the last time I saw him)

PS how did 2019 become 6 years ago!
Also missed out of. NY Dolls.  Pretty sure I caught a late formation of them in 2010 playing a Joey Ramone tribute show. I remember a bunch of women dressed as nuns and a song about popping pills and doing drugs.
I guess i have some homework to do.

I saw the Ramones twice as well. Never saw the NY Dolls, but saw David Johansen do a solo show in the 80s.

If you get a chance, check out the documentary, "All Dolled Up".  The footage and sound quality are not great, but it's amazing there is so much of it considering their lack of following in those days and the performances in the extras are way cool!

Also, the film "New York Doll" which focuses on Arthur "Killer" Kane is just flat out marvelous!  Also with some fine extras.

    Thx^^
Below is the show I saw. Maybe a doll in the line-up?

It was cool and fun. It was when PJ was in town and kind of thought someone from the band would have played. Nope. HR was pretty spaced out, but now knowing all he's going through mentally it makes more sense.

Was fun when I did stuff. Might have to try to start living again someday! ❤️
