"Shakermaker". It is remarkably similar to the second song, "Pretty Privilege".
Bringo! I think it's really hard not to wear influences on your sleeve & in fact Noel himself has always been up front about who he's ripped from. I think it works on subconscious level at times & others it's more blatant. You don't really realize what you've pulled from maybe until it's done with. I've def held back on certain songs because they've sounded way too similar to songs I immediately knew. I always think of it as how are you making the song your own, inflecting your personal voice and style, because at the end of the day we are the some of what we've listen to and how you sending it out via your own voice. & arguably there's some acts out there that do it better than others and some of that (to me) is extremely evident *Cough* Greta Von Fleet!!!
Oh wow, I just heard this, it's the same chord progression. What's crazy is I always remember seeing this album cover and assuming it was Phish. I now finally have context! What came out bares comparison to "Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues" I was listening to the Royal Albert Bootleg a lot and always love the raw sound that happened with The Hawks& Bob. It was something we were conscious of when mixing it and I specifically sighted it to the engineer. Thanks for listening!
