i am loving that they are committed to this new project. tons of tour dates just like the old dayz. it's been a fun ride getting the new kids on board! many of whom never even saw jerry play. saw if i had the world to give sung by otiel in columbus and i melted into a pool of water..

My copy of Dave's Picks Vol 1 Box set LP arrived last week. The Mosque in Virginia- 1977. I was excited because I don't own any '77 shows on vinyl that have a Scarlet-Fire run. I gave it a first listen and was totally disappointed. There was a 'pop' every revolution for most of Fire and also on Wharf Rat. Couldn't listen anymore after that. I gave it a look under sunlight and noticed scratches on the LP. I emailed dead.net and they were very gracious. They're sending me out another copy. Great customer service.

For the live stuff I only do CD.  There is sooo much stuff out there and it's easier to manage.

Good 1. I have that 40 min version of playing in the band. There is a woman singer on it that pretty much trashes the song.

Donna. Not the best era for the GD. I once saw a 19 minute version of bird song in 1984, done acoustically by Jerry. It was great, but there were definitely times when he went somewhere far far away form the audience.

I don't know. Her voice may not be appealing to some, but she was around for those great '77 & '78 shows.

Agree. The band was great and then she would come into the song. Sometimes good sometimes too much. I am more of a fan from the tiger era. 82-90. Deda set era. Simply because that is when I saw them live.

That playing in the band is ooofff. Perhaps her vocals are a little too high on that particular recording.. Not really familiar with her other stuff.

I think I bought that record in 1979. I may still have it. Somewhere.

Dig em out! I got this cassette pretty recently. My car still has a tape deck!

Always thought that cover would make a great tattoo. Love the skeleton flipping the bird spinning the record. Just perfect.

Maybe 'trashing' the song is a little dramatic. But if you have 40 min and nothing to do. Enjoy!

Anyone else think EV used Casey Jones to inspire a couple songs off no code?
    Coincidence?
    I'm thinking too much?
    Just interesting.

    Also Kinks 'superman' & 'betterman'

    Check em out
