Just watched it on Youtube and couldn't really hear it that well. Anyone know the lyrics to it?
Change don't come at once, it's a wave, building before it breaks.

Chicago Cubs Song - "Someday We'll Go All the Way"
Yeah, don't let them say that it's just a game.
Well, I've seen other teams and it is never the same.
When you go to Chicago, you're blessed and you're healed,
The first time you walk into Wrigley Field.
Heroes with pinstripes and heroes in blue,
Give us the chance to feel like heroes do.
Whether we'll win and if we should lose, we know
Someday we'll go all the way.
Yeah, someday we'll go all the way.
We are one with the Cubs, with the Cubs we're in love.
Hold our heads tall as the underdogs.
We are not fairweather, but farweather fans.
Like brothers in arms, in the suites and the stands.
There's magic in the Ivy and the old score board.
The same one I stared at as a kid keeping score.
In a world full of greed, we could never want more.
Someday we'll go all the way.
Yeah, someday we'll go all the way.
Here's to the men and the legends we've known.
Giving us faith and giving us hope.
United we stand and united we'll fall
Down to our knees the day we win it all.
Yeah Ernie Banks said, "oh, let's play two".
I think he meant two hundred years.
Playing at Wrigley, our diamond, our jewel.
The home of our joy and our fears.
Keeping traditions, and wishes anew,
The place where our grandfathers' fathers they grew.
The spitual feeling if I ever knew.
And when the day comes for that last winning run,
and I'm crying and covered with beer.
I look to the sky and know I was right today.
Someday we'll go all the way.
Yeah, someday we'll go all the way.0 -
I hope that they go one day all the way

Sing?? when I said, there's a kid keeping score.
Unless my ears deceive me, I believe the line might be:
"The same one I stared at as a kid keeping score."
I've been meaning to transcribe the lyrics myself but just haven't found the time, so I thank you kindly for saving me the effort.
As a devoted, long-suffering Cubs fan, I must say, this song brings a tear to my eye. "Someday we'll go all the way..." *sniffle* [Preferably in my lifetime...]"When we remember we are all mad, the mysteries disappear and life stands explained." ~ Mark Twain0 -
Thanks, I think you're right! I updated my earlier post. The only line I wasn't sure about was in the 3rd verse:
Keeping traditions, and wishes and doom??
I think the rest of it is correct.0 -
Yeah Ed! I'm a yankees fan myself, but he's still got the creative juices flowing, eh?There is no such thing as leftover pizza. There is now pizza and later pizza. - anonymous

I think he says "Give us the chance to feel like heroes do.
Thanks so much for lyrics, I couldn't come close to figuring out some of the rest!0 -

I think you're right, I just updated above.
Anyone know about this line:
Keeping traditions, and wishes and doom??0 -
Fuck The Cubs.........go Mets!!!Out of the Blue and Into the Black................Uncle Neil Philly 08 here I come!!!!0

I'm pretty sure the "and I'm crying and covered in fear" line is actually "and I'm crying and covered in beer." I say this because it's something you'd be doing in Wrigley when the Cubs win the Series and the crowd is celebrating. That, and the recording sure makes it sound like he says "beer."0
-
Now that I listened again, I think it's covered with beer. So I've updated it to that.0

any of you dorks wanna try your hand at a tab of this song? Or just the chords will do.everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do0 -
thanks for transcribing. the only thing I can add is that I think it's "last winning run" instead of "last minute run".I am Jack, The Pumpkin King!

Maybe its:
Keeping traditions, and wishes anew. or ... keeping traditions and wishes they do.
Also on youtube I can only find the song with the first verse cut off. Is there a youtube version of the entire song?
Edit: keeping traditions and wishes made new..0 -

Come on now, it's the Cubs. They'll always find a way to fuck it up in heartbreaking fashion....0 -
Yeah I also saw it a few days back and it's cool! Nice song Ed!, I know, It must be heart-breaking for the cubbies that they haven't won in ages, but always keep hoping lol...Even if they do fuck up, stick to your team, I mean it's like one of your loved ones fucking up, but you never lose hope in them or stop supporting them because you love them right? Just my opinion, I know the feeling of heart-break when it comes to sports, it's only normal lol."Does anyone remember laughter?"
