No experience with that Audient interface but generally speaking, home recording gear is incredible these days. It has never been easier to make pro-level recordings at home and the amount of technology for the dollars spent is far more favorable than ever.

I started out with a 4-track tape machine years ago and have upgraded every so often since then. I've had several interfaces and DAW/software bundles over the years. My current set up is a MacBook running Studio One and the front end is a Tascam Model 12. The Model 12 allows me to run enough mics for a complete drum kit plus separate channels for guitar and bass, all recorded simultaneously and live.

For mixing, the Model 12 is a control surface that can be used for making real time adjustments in the DAW using the faders, knobs and switches.  I much prefer that to having to use a mouse or track pad to adjust one parameter at a time.

Glad your new set up is working out for you!
