Pearl jam cd question.

I posted this question in another topic, but it think i'll get a quicker response here. ive been hearing about bootlegs alot...what are they? i bought a cd that is called pearl jam state college pennsylvania and it is in a really rough cardboard package that the discs just slip into.The cardboard is just brown, but it has a few small one colour designs. There was more in the store just like this, except different little designs on them and different locations. What is this?

    recorded concerts of pearl jam shows.

    theyve released over 70 fom binaural and riot act tours, very well known for it.

    buy them, enjoy them, trade them. Bootleg is not techniqully the right term for them, but its close enough. Pj produces them so its encouraged :)

    Nearly all of the bootlegs from the 2000 tour were released in stores.
    From the 2003 tour: Perth, Tokyo, State College, MSG 1&2, and Boston 3 were released in stores and the rest were released online for a limited time.

    If you want to start collecting, look for people on this board and other boards to trade with or do a B&P with...you're collection will increase before you know it at a very low cost! :) have fun.

    i see, ok thanks. So these discs i'm talking about arent necassarly bootlegs, but close. Ok, so where do i get real bootlegs from? Besides the board.

    by "real" bootlegs do you mean pre-2000 show recordings? I suppose you can go to a used record store and spend an enormous amount of money for a shitty sounding boot...my advice is stick with the official ones, why wouldn't you?

    well people call them bootlegs (the ones you saw) even though they arent "really" bootlegs
