Each member has their own influences.
Ed (as most of us know and as you mentioned already) was/is big into the Who (or anything Pete Townshend did), Ramones, Beatles, Buzzcocks, and Fugazi...among others.
Here is a list of the "13 records that changed Eddie's life"
Jackson 5
Beatles "White Album"
The Who "Tommy"
Ramones "Road to Ruin"
Talking Heads "More Songs About Buildings and Food"
Various Artists "Music and Rhythm"
Sonic Youth "Daydream Nattion"
Jim O'Rourke "Insignificance"
Fugazi "13 Songs"
Soundgarden "Screming Life/FOPP"
Mudhoney
Tom Waits "Nighthawks at the Diner"
Pixies "Surfer Rosa"
Mike was into Hendrix, the Stones, Led Zep, Kiss, Aerosmith, UFO, and a lot of hair/metal bands.
btw, how can you hate Zeppelin?"I'll do whatever the song dictates - if it doesn't need a real lead, then I won't do one. But if it does, then I'll fuckin' go off." - Mike
"Japan is awesome; the fans there knew all the words to all the songs...at least phonetically." - Stone
"I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version." - EV0 -

meh i guess so. but plant was the lead singer of zeppelin and he ruined the opening of that who concert for me. and he doesn't really sing."Time is on the side of the oppressed today, it's against the oppressor. But yeah, Zep and Plant's solo work aren't comparable."I'll do whatever the song dictates - if it doesn't need a real lead, then I won't do one. But if it does, then I'll fuckin' go off." - Mike

that's interesting that you say that. I heard nothing but positive reviews of Robert Plant opening for the Who. I was actually bummed when the Counting Crowes opened for the Who when i saw them that tour, oh well.
But yeah, Zep and Plant's solo work aren't comparable.
dangit!!! i wished i could have seen the crows open up for the who. i love counting crows. well what plant basicall did was run around yelling like a madman it was horrible maybe its just not my kind of music. meh."Time is on the side of the oppressed today, it's against the oppressor.
