    I think it is a story about a woman who is mentally ill in a small town. The person singing first person is a child who sees her from his car as his or her mom drives by her. This child dreams about the drunk woman because she is so unusual and fascinating to him.

    this song always reminded me of I am pretty sure its donnie darko when the old lady goes to her mail box and almost always gets hit by a car. Jake Gyellenhall just looks at her as they drive by.
