Can anyone shed some light on what the hell was going through the heads of Ament, Gossard, Irons, McCready, and Vedder when they wrote "Hey Foxymophandlemama, That's Me." Both the lyrics and music are insane. It is such a random song. Actually, I don't think it is much of a song at all.

according to a rumour the lyrics are chosen from conversations of people( in a hospital) who are mentally ill but i can't say anything exact about it's truth..

We watched a video in a high school psych class, this must've been early 95. It was a 20/20 or Dateline type of show. The spoken audio on the track is from that episode. There were a handful of us Pearl Jam fans running around telling each other what we saw.

I love hearing random Pearl Jam clips on television. I have heard ESPN use Do the Evolution and World Wide Suicide before in their productions

This song TOTALLY creeps me out! It reminds me of being stuck in a bad dream that I can't wake up from, but want to- that same eerie sensation... but at the SAME time, it reminds me of an "old timey" black & white t.v. show like "Leave It To Beaver" or something... like two kids just havin' a conversation about nothing important.

yeah...but the song is like an installation within music, it's artistically interesting in some kind of random way. (...hm, what I really wanted to say?!...) Lyrics are wacky... first I thought that it's about a child who thinks that molestation is sth normal and okay so it made me ponder about it.
