Hi Mick, serious question here.  I am always intrigued to click your links, but I do not use the social media platforms ie facebook, twitter, instagram etc. If I click your links, where does "threads.net" lead me?

linked with instagram. so a meta(facebook) product. Not sure if its needed to have an account to view links. others here would likely know that better than I.
this particular link contains a rawstory link with commentary of former rnc chairman michael steele.

Got it.  Thanks for the info.  My stubborn self won't go on those platforms, even if I don't need an account.  On principle alone, I will never go on those platforms.  So, unfortunately I miss out on most of your postings.  Maybe it's time for me to step into the 21st century.

    Thanks, mickey.

I find it an easy(lazy?) way to have access to multiple sources. so its used as an aggregator for me. with the addition of internet snark.

my primary news comes from ap, reuters, bbc , some from the guardian. propublica has good investigative journalism.

Is Faux News reporting this? In breathless fauxrage? Cop killer too. And “native born” to boot.

Sen. Kevin Cramer’s adult son sentenced to 28 years in prison

Ian Cramer led law enforcement in North Dakota on a high-speed chase, crashing into a vehicle and killing a sheriff’s deputy.

Ian Cramer, the 43-year-old son of Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-North Dakota), was sentenced Monday to 28 years in prison for leading police on a high-speed car chase in North Dakota that ended when he crashed into another vehicle and killed a sheriff’s deputy.

The sentencing came after Ian Cramer pleaded guilty in September to charges that included homicide while fleeing a peace officer, fleeing a peace officer, preventing arrest, reckless endangerment, driving under suspension, possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, the Associated Press reported.

The sentence from Judge Bobbi Weiler of the South Central Judicial District of North Dakota included 38 years in prison, with 10 years suspended, followed by three years of probation.

You had resources, more resources than 99 percent of the people that I’ve seen,” Weiler said in a video published by the Bismarck Tribune.

    From Letter From An American:

Meanwhile, people who were already worried about the coming of a new century began to fear that the end of the world was coming. In late 1996, evangelical Christian believers saw the Virgin Mary in the windows of an office building near Clearwater, Florida, and some thought the image was a sign of the end times. Leaders fed that fear, some appearing to hope that the secular government they hated would fall, some appreciating the profit to be made from their warnings. Popular televangelist Pat Robertson ran headlines like “The Year 2000—A Date with Disaster.”

Fears reached far beyond the evangelical community. Newspaper tabloids ran headlines that convinced some worried people to start stockpiling food and preparing for societal collapse: “JANUARY 1, 2000: THE DAY THE EARTH WILL STAND STILL!” one tabloid read. “ALL BANKS WILL FAIL. FOOD SUPPLIES WILL BE DEPLETED! ELECTRICITY WILL BE CUT OFF! THE STOCK MARKET WILL CRASH! VEHICLES USING COMPUTER CHIPS WILL STOP DEAD! TELEPHONES WILL CEASE TO FUNCTION! DOMINO EFFECT WILL CAUSE A WORLDWIDE DEPRESSION!”
