    Sure…

    1. Sturgill Simpson - The best touring act/band out there. I’ve been following him for a while. Got to see him play in a bar and small clubs and was blown away, but this current tour is something else.
    2. Dead & Co. @ the Sphere - Just a super fun experience.
    3. PJ - Vegas 1 - Was a phenomenal show, and I crossed a few songs off my list.
    4. Isbell & 400 Unit - This was my 10th time see them. I knew what I was getting going in.
    5. Metallica - I’m done with stadium shows. The band was great, the venue sucked the life out of it.

Grateful to witness lots of face melting live music this year. Not sure I could rank them, however finally seeing PJ outside the US, the DeadCo/Sphere experience, Jack White at the 40 Watt, being on the rail for PJ MSG1, PJ Philly N1, and Billy Strings Austin N1 would all vie for the top of the list.

    1/26 TOOL -- Birmingham
    2/16 Billy Strings -- Asheville
2/27 Neil deGrasse Tyson -- Birmingham
    3/1 Billy Strings -- ATL
    3/2 Billy Strings -- ATL
    3/22 Zach Bryan -- Birmingham
    4/26 Billy Strings -- Lexington
    5/4 Pearl Jam -- Vancouver
    5/6 Pearl Jam -- Vancouver
    6/13 Dead & Company -- Las Vegas
    6/14 Dead & Company -- Las Vegas
    6/15 Dead & Company -- Las Vegas
    6/21 Goose -- ATL
    8/30 Jack White -- Athens
    8/29 Pearl Jam -- Wrigley
    8/31 Pearl Jam -- Wrigley
    9/3 Pearl Jam -- NYC
    9/4 Pearl Jam -- NYC
    9/7 Pearl Jam -- Philly
10/13 Gillian Welch & David Rawlings -- Birmingham

I was wondering where you would rank the Sturgill Simpson show the one I went to was by far the best thing I went to this year. I have Metallica tickets to the Blacksburg show and I'm skeptical of how it will be in a stadium. I've seen Pearl Jam and the Rolling Stones in stadiums and it's definitely not as good as an arena show IMO.

    DOA/FEAR - Seattle August 17, 2024
    AEW - Tacoma, WA - Wrestledream - October 12, 2024
    Dropkick Murphy's/Pennywise - Vancouver - October 13, 2024
    Foo Fighters - Seattle - August 18, 2024
WWE - Survivor Series - Vancouver - Nov 30, 2024 - Not a concert, but feels like when I need to do a concert trip to get there.

    Local Shows (Victoria, BC)

    Dayglo Abortions x 2
    Unleash the Archers
    The Cult

The list may seem smaller than most of the other ones in this thread, but given I have to travel off an Island to go see shows in Vancouver/Seattle, it takes vacation days, expensive hotels, and ferry/fuel costs.   It's not easy.

I'm not actually sure I traveled this much off my Island in a very long while.  I've started to get this FOMO and started doing a round of my big favourite rock acts that still tour.  So far I have tickets for Metallica, Jack While, Our Lady Peace/Collective Soul, Glass Tiger next year.   Will most likely figure out how to get AC/DC tickets... and if I could pull off Oasis in Toronto or LA that would be icing on the cake.

Well I think that's an impressive list even with a big omision on Nov. 22 and without factoring in the ferry and the insane hotel prices in Vancouver and Seattle. It must have been getting late when you did this list lol. I'm in greater Vancouver and somehow we didn't get to that one Nov. 22 and I'm still kicking my own ass big time!

  • From a quality > quantity perspective, I had my best concert year since 2016. Checked 2 items off my bucket list (getting back to Red Rocks again, and seeing Pearl Jam in Ireland) and also saw a few things I never thought I would see (Primus / Puscifer / A Perfect Circle sharing a stage, also Danny Carey / Steve Vai sharing a stage, all of which I was lucky enough to see in small theaters)

    Sessanta Boston x 2
    Sessanta Red Rocks x 2

    Pearl Jam, Manchester
    Pearl Jam, Philly 1
    Pearl Jam, Fenway x 2

Pretty much all of them.  They’ve added one guitarist but still all the main guys. They do Europe every year, big in Germany for real, then end up at the Keswick Theater early November. It’s a fun show if you were around in the 80s in Philly.

We're hoping to see them again in 2025 too. It was our first time seeing them and it was fantastic! I've got the Nugs.net subscription and a number of livestreams were available this year so we managed to watch all of those, some many times. They seem to tour a lot and hopefully will continue to do so.
