This is such hard news. Slim was a great player, and really cool guy, and a latter member of our beloved The Replacements. I'm pretty busted* up about this one.
R.I.P. Slim Dunlap 8/14/51 to 12/18/24 (9 days younger than me).
*an appropriate wording as this is a title of a very cool Slim tune.

So sad to hear about Slim. I wonder if the remaining 3 ‘Mats will make any public comments.0

Slim was the most level headed and likeable of the bunch (don't get me wrong, I love 'em all), so perhaps.Slims wife Chrissie was super supportive. I read that Slim liked to be able to sit and look out at their Christmas tree on their deck so sent them a Christmas ornament last year and she sent me a nice note in reply. That was sweet.Yeah, it was sweet.I've been reading stories on Facebook and Instagram from people who know and worked with Slim (both in music and day jobs) and they all have in common comments about what a really cool, sweat, calm, friendly, etc. kind of guy he was. Not to mention a really fins musician. And this was a cool quote from Bruce Springsteen:"“I hope I get a chance to cut one of his songs,” Springsteen told NPR in 2014. “Check out the two Slim Dunlap records, because they’re just beautiful rock ‘n’ roll records. I found them to be deeply touching and emotional.”
