Absolutely! I've been driving the PJ35 Dream Train for a few months.
I mentioned Red Rocks in the thread of dreams.. It's so beautiful, and Denver is a cool city.Post edited by MikeDigs onI'm spinning, oh-oh-oh I'm spinning0 -
Hate to say it, but that venue is totally overrated. It is a nice place. But it's a venue that comes with a hike, hard seats, bad weather, and the locals own that place. It is like Sedona, AZ. OK this is nice but get me out of here.0

Been to redrocks two dozen times, always had a great time, and certainly there is a trade off for the view and atmosphere, but that “hike” really isn’t that bad. Been to the gorge as well… that’s fine too, but a horrible amount of travel is required for most people to make it there… and while it’s been hot at redrocks I’ve never had 116° and 98% humidity like the gorge. I’ve had more issues with weather at pine knob/dte in Michigan than red rocks..
always a trade off for an experience. Wrigley/Rome/Gorge/ or any shed near any city in North America come with a trade off.Feel free 2 feel free0 -

Actually what put me off was the locals. They have a routine and grab the best spots to save for their friends. I will not be going back anytime soon. I guess they have season passes and do not really care what band is playing. They just go there for a night out. And that is fine. I guess I am a city boy. I do not want to walk a mile uphill in the dust to get to the venue only to find a huge line. I get why people like it. Not for me.0 -

Not every show is G.A.
I've been there many times and never had the experience you mention.
Are there plenty of people who go just to go regardless of who is playing? Sure.
It is a tourist destination after all.
And a city owned public park.0 -
The two times I’ve been there, the locals were super nice to me. A guy chatted me up and then we walked around the site and smoked a joint together.I will note neither visit was for a concert. It wasn’t concert season, I went just to hike around the park.0

went to RR last year for the first time and LOVED IT. Different strokes I guessPJ ain't playing there, esp for an event that would have this much demand0
-
I would rather have an NYC or Philly residency over that venue. It is a nice place. But no thanks. That is just my opinion.0
-
Lmao I’ll pass on nyc and Philly… I’ve had my share of dealings with Philly assholes that actually pride themselves in being assholes.. and you can keep nyc.. I’d rather hike 100 miles to redrocks than deal with that city.. lmao talk about locals and their issues.. but good for you I guess.Feel free 2 feel free0

Three shows would still be an impossible ticket. This show, another show, a show here and a show there.0

I love Philly, NYC and Red Rocks! Amazing locations and I can't wait to visit all of them. Originally from Philly, and while there are definitely bad people there, there are also a great amount of good people, and the crowd energy is tough to match in other cities. NYC has some of the best food experiences on the planet. And then Red Rocks / Denver has a ton of cool stuff to explore.
Let's have a PJ35 at all of those locationsI'm spinning, oh-oh-oh I'm spinning0 -
It seems that the key for out of towners going to RR is shows w/ assigned seating... I've heard nothing but bad things about the GA shows.
The weather for my return trip left me a lot less enamored w/ the venue, but the setting and the acoustics absolutely live up to the hype. If it's not on your bucket list, it should be.... just shoot for a show between May & September w/ assigned seating.0 -
To each his own. Three hours plus to sit on a piece of rock in the middle of nowhere? Yeah it's a nice place and go see it. It is a beautiful place for sure. But it will not get my vote for a residency or a celebration.0

I guess this is true. My experiences were with GA shows. Total nightmare. Aggressive people holding seats. it is unlikely I will ever go back.0 -

Ive been going to shows for 30+ years Detroit, Chicago, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Rome, gorge, redrocks, Missoula, Denver, Kalamazoo, Columbus, Indy, telluride..… the list goes on.. but the only show I’m dying to see is pj at redrocks… bucket list. For me once you’ve been to one giant indoor stadium show, you’ve been to them all.. whether it’s nosebleeds at the United center or riding the rail at the rose garden… they all feel the same. Sure it’s a good time… and I don’t turn them down.. but the atmosphere in a more natural setting is hard to beat… now get pj on stage at a place like bellyup aspen… that may just be #1 on the bucket list… but also in the very low probability column. So my dreams fall on redrocks.Feel free 2 feel free0 -
How about a compromise: PJ35 to be held in the small city park across from my house in Worcester MA, eh? 😉#Grievance20250

We can dream but I have a hard time seeing the band playing a 10k seat venue when they can sell out a 30k seat ballpark instead.0
